I can fully understand the Cowboys valuation of 600k. But for us, with our young pack and lack of experience, 700k per season for Scott is a very profitable deal for both parties--provided the third year is not fixed

I think if you guys signed Matt Scott and he remained as good as he currently is you could potentially make the 8 next year.

Three year deal isn't too bad. If he can't get the job done as well anymore in 2020 then he'd be a great bench player at 34.

Yep this sounds like a good deal. $700k isn't too bad considering the way contracts are being inflated these days. If a good NRL standard half (Ben Hunt) goes for over $1m per season then $700k for a world class front rower seems pretty good.

Even if he's physically on the decline if he can still pump out 100m per game on reduced minutes and help the saifitis improve then he's a good investment.

Billy/roopy was a great poster I thought. Yeah you needed to apply a filter at times but at least he had his own opinions and knew about guys outside the NRL squad which are hard to keep a tab on. He promoted footy-related discussion.

I know he was a whipping boy for some here but this forum is worse off for him leaving. I think it was pretty poor the way he was allowed to be ridiculed towards the end.
