The cap has moved so fast, the first year of aku's big deal it was only $6.3m. That 500k would be equivalent to $750k+ in 2018. The dawg isn't worth that much, but certainly half would be fair.

Cody walker is only on 200,000 at the moment.and he wants a upgrade in pay all hes going.we could get him for a good price, maybe early realise.he not the calibre of cronk but we cant wait for a strong chance of him just retiring anyway.plus we will have plenty of coin for forwards. Not sure whats a fair price for him though, curious if anyone that its a gamble.

I'd be comfortable with us paying $400k - $450k for Cody Walker. This would be a big increase for him and would be good value for money for us. We need a good ball runner in the halves and although Feeney has improved he's got a long way to go to be considered a regular first grader.

Yeah it is hypocritical for the club, but definitely Ross should be a rewarded for his efforts. Its an insult to be paying him peanuts, and alot of fans will turn on the club and brown for that matter.

Plus i was thinking he a descent fullback aswell, bit of a back up plan if ponga gets injured.

Double it and you'd be closer.

It's blown up in his face for now but I don't think Ross is the type to take off when things don't go his way. I'll be surprised if he hasn't signed an extension here by the end of the season.

Wow I just read this. Brown has got balls of steel!

I love that he puts club culture and discipline above short term results. i.e. we lose a good player from our side this weekend which means we're less likely to win (not that we're that likely to win anyway) but the long term club culture and attitude of the players will get a boost from seeing this sort of message from the coach - "Toe the line boys! No-one will hold this club to ransom and every player is replaceable"

Wow. Amazballs. Hopefully Ross does enough to get picked again quickly for firsts because he is quality.

On a side note:

Throw $1.5m a year at Cronk and Walker a year split however they want it. That's not a huge chunk of the cap for the upgrade they'll bring to the club.

You'd think Brown already had a pretty good idea about how Ross was going to take it. Doubt he would have done it if he thought it was going to go the other way and cause more drama; we can't afford to lose Ross. Hopefully it's not going cost him anything in the contract talks.

Well brown had lost the support of the vast majority of knights suporters now.

Whether his decision is right or wrong it's probably a nail in coffin for him. Won't be long until we are back to the stone and hagan days. It's what the fans want
