Has Beale been anything but a bit of a utility/bench player at best with Cronulla. I mean, at full strength where would he be in the Sharks line up?

He was actually starting ahead of Ricky Leutele at times last year which is insane.

Did Leutele have a leg cut off? Would explain it.

Beale for mine is a bloke that could fill in when the top squad loses an outside back.

I don't see anything else in him.

We would be his fourth club in 7 years.

If he's a starting centre for us in 2018 then we have along way to go still till we have a team capable of really testing the 8.

Depth signing - yes.

Starting centre - FMD.

Or maybe I'm being a bit harsh?

I'd have Ross, SKD, Moga, Sio, Elliot, Sione and Pete (unlikely to stay though) ahead of him at the very least.

Kidding yourself if you think we're signing Beale for nsw cup lol.
Any signing will be in a squad of 30plus most likely 40plus and will play 1sts or cup depending on form, injuries suspensions etc it is up to those players to perform and obtain position. If let's say we sign Beale it is not guaranteed he will play 1sts. If form is not good enough he will be cup or cup bench, fact of life. It will be the same for the other 30-40 players even those new signings,

My point was we're not looking to sign an outside back from top 4 team to booster nsw cup. He will be our other centre unless yes, bad form dictates otherwise. Like Hodko really - we didn't sign him to play nsw cup, as much as we want to see him there now.

I hope if we get him he's cheap as chups.

Anthony Tupou announced his retirement today. Couldn't get back after getting injured in round 10. Wish we could've seen more of him on the field for us. Wish him the best.

Moylan on the nose at Penrith apparently. It's according to James Hooper so it's probably bullshit, but hey.

Would be a massive get - Moylan and Lamb in the halves, with Watson at centre, would be a gun combo.

Watson is too small to play centre, not to mention the major reason he signed here was because he was told he'd be first choice 6. Ditto with Ponga at fullback. If we were to get Moylan it would be at the expense of Lamb. I'd put all my money on him going to the Tigers if he leaves Penrith.

Watson is no smaller than Jennings, and he does ok. Watson certainly has the speed and toughness to do it.

Goes against our "monster outside back strategy" though.

Guess I rate Moylan more than most.

The way the media carries on about Moylan is a bit over the top but I rate him, too. I just highly doubt we'll chase/get him, and if we did I don't think it would be Watson that moves.

I always thought Moylan would have progressed to a top line 5/8 by now.

Hasn't happened for whatever reasons and not sure it ever will.

If it means Lamb going than I'm against it. I hate to say this guys, but I'm not that excited by Watson. He appears to be fast over 40 or so metres and that's about it. I haven't seen him create much with a passing or kicking game. He doesn't seem to miss many tackles which is good.
Brock Lamb is the one to be excited about in my opinion. I'm probably most excited by his development than I am any of our current players (which is a big statement considering the young talent we have).

In most of the games Watson has played the whole game at half, fullback or even hooker rather than coming off the bench he's been one of the best on field. You're correct he doesn't have much of a kicking game at all but he's got the makings of a great running half.

Weird one mate I don't get how they make him club captain and talk him up all year only to let him go mid contract cause he wants out?

Tend to agree with you and the bullshit call. But if true as good as he is why would we want a guy like that?

Lamb has great hands and is skillful running to the line which is rare. Watson has great talent of a different kind but both can be great. All up to them with right support.
