Moylan is almost as over rated as Josh Jackson.

I think the panthers playing better when he's out injured says a lot.

Moylan is very talented no doubt but I think he's a bit overrated and he's apparently not the most professional guy around either. Not sure if he would contribute to a good culture or if he would detract from it.

Also I'm actually pretty happy with the way our spine is shaping up next year and I don't want us to buy players for the sake of it, especially since Moylan would command big $$$

We all know that our major priority right now is front row so I would rather see us buy a couple of decent front rowers rather than splashing money on a guy who we don't necessarily need. Also we still need a centre as well if Pete leaves.

Weird one mate I don't get how they make him club captain and talk him up all year only to let him go mid contract cause he wants out?

Tend to agree with you and the bullshit call. But if true as good as he is why would we want a guy like that?

Wouldn't be the first time Penrith have let go of a top shelf talent and had them kick on at another club - Lewis, Graham, Fittler...

I read there was some tension between him and the club earlier in the year because he wanted to switch to the halves but Gould and Griffin wanted him to stay at fullback. Also they apparently weren't impressed with his efforts in rehab when coming back from injury. He seems like a grade A tosspot who considers himself to be the next Lockyer.

We probably wouldn't gain too much as a team by adding Moylan anyway, would adding Moylan and losing lamb make us win any more games than we would have without moylan? Probably not. Plus lamb and Watson have far more upside to them both being 20 odd and Moylan turning 27 next year.

Which is hilarious as the media keep dubbing him "young Matt Moylan" and constantly refer to him as if he's a player still developing.
Yeah it's really easy to think that he he early 20s and most people probably just assume he's still really young. He really should be hitting his straps at his age.

Moylan is a flop in the halves; Watson and Lamb are/will be better. Ponga ain't coming here to develop below first grade and will be a better fullback than Moylan is or will ever be.

Waste of a signing.

From Newcastle Sunday
  • Knights are close to announcing the signing of Slade Griffin as the backup hooker for Danny Levi.
  • The re-signing of Lachlan Fitzgibbon (2 years) & Luke Yates (1 year) will also be announced soon.
  • NSW Cup Team of the Year winger Tom Hughes has re-signed with the club and will be part of the full-time squad next year.
  • Both are signed until the end of 2018 but Canberra are already targeting Jack Cogger & promising Australian Schoolboys hooker Luke Huth. Huth is currently weighing up an offer to extend with the Knights until the end of 2020.

I like Griffin. Offers flexibility as well as a back up hooker. Is still pretty young too.

From all reports he is a good trainer and has shown tenacity after coming back from an ACL injury. Seems like a very Brown buy at small $

He can't be very good, otherwise Bellamy would be moving mountains to keep him around for when Smith retires or winds down from being an 80 minute player in the near future.

Levi is getting better and better as each season goes on, respectable reliable back up like Slade is a good choice and at a good price. Randall fill in without the over the top price.

Cogger I can kind of understand losing as he has potential to make 1st at another club (not sure if that is canberra though). Cannot afford to lose juniors like Huth though, with this West deal taking over we are believing that we can hold onto these kids. Already lost a couple to Tigers, Heath Gibbs was especially disappointing.

I wonder why there have been no updates on Blair for about a week or two...

My guess is he has put pen to paper somewhere, it's currently in the cooling off period and also I don't reckon an announcement will be made whilst the broncos are heading into the finals.

Speaking of blair, I reckon he really bounced back from his horrid performance against the eels. Looked dangerous with every carry, scored a good try.

I think Brown is obsessed with the "system" players come from.

Hence wanting a Storm player that has shown pretty much nothing in first grade over an established first grader who has shown a lot of potential but comes from a bad system (Lichaa).

If we want to challenge for the 8, Slade Griffin takes a leadership role - in NSW cup.
