No I don't few playing well others not committing and some not quite up to it but just thinking we are already calling Glasby a plod and hasn't played for us yet, think he has to be a upgrade no matter what if rest are so bad.

Did you watch Glasby tonight and if so, are you excited with what he will bring?

I expect Glasby's carries to mirror what we have already.

He is a better defender than the twins.

That's it.

He is a plodder rolling off the back of a dominant pack, how do you think he will look taking hit ups after our lot?

exactly...did he even play tonight...he's a Timmy Mannah type, lovely fella but wouldn't bruise a grape...
better off signing that Curtis Scott,at least he showed some f**king sac...
don't sign any more old guys looking to get paid....sign young monsters looking to play first grade, where's Passami Saulo, for f**ks sake give him a run, what's the worst that could happen?
another f**king spoon...

Can he hold onto the ball off a kick off when we're up by 8? If so, he's better than what we've got and I'll take him.

Let's forget Glasby for the moment, what else have we got coming in? Even with him next year we're still two good props short of being a top 8 side.

Let's assume Ah Mau goes to the Warriors, if so then what else is out there? The two main guys off contract were Wallace and Boyd and they're both gone now, we supposedly have all this spare $$$ lying around but can't find someone good to give it to.

I suppose Brown and Mooney are waiting on someone to be on the nose at their current club and ask for a release or for the salary cap situations at the Dogs or Manly to worsen and have to move people on. It worked last year with us getting Pearce in the off season so I guess we need to show some faith.

Seriously though I'm really concerned that we're in for another shit year next year if we can't find another couple of big fellas to make metres and stiffen up our defence.

We baulked at $500k for Vaughn because he plays 50 mins a game.

Not interested in Boyd because he doesn’t play enough minutes.

Turn around and sign Glasby on decent money, who plays 40-50 ineffectual minutes.

Maybe Brown and Moons are shit at picking props.

Yeah, our prop recruitment boggles the mind at this stage. I really don't care what anyone says - Glasby is a waste of cash regardless of credentials. His repping QLD says more about their front row depth than his ability.

Our only chance it seems is to pull another Pearce, but how often does that really happen? It sounds like we should have had Wallace, which is a f**king disappointing thing to hear.

Brown must have genuine fears now that we could be short again of a decent rotation of props if the twins don't somehow improve out if sight to begin next season.

We need to buy at least 2 very good props and the coaching staff need to do something drastic with the twins to get them up to speed in all areas.

Even then, a few injuries hit and we are in deep shit again.

We finish bottom 3 this year surely Brown gets the punt. It will be interesting to see how Wests react, they aren’t used to failure.

Yes the Pearce injury has hurt us, but we get bent over in the forwards every single game and that isn’t anything to do with Pearce - and we have stuffed every effort to fix it.

I've been a Brown supporter since day 1 but yesterday was the point in the 'rebuild' that set alarms bells off - surely.

I'm not a big fan of moving Brown on and starting again but what choice do Wests have if we go to the bottom of the ladder. I think well be 15th by the end of R16. If we lose to Parra twice we could take the spoon.

Pearce out is definitely not an excuse. Our piss weak, lame soft pack should wear a lot of the blame and of course the blind can see our problems in defence.

We talk of getting a big bad prop or two but I would take another Esee or two, he has been very consistent and played strong and just reaching his prime years.
It's a pity we don't see more of reserve grade on TV to see what is available at other clubs, must be a young 22-24yo playing strong for a club stacked with big good pack such as Dragons, Bunnies etc who can't crack a 1st grade spot.
Market is drying up for big bad guys unless a club has to off load due to cap.

Mate I don't think punting Brown is the answer, even though we're all frustrated after the game yesterday we are still a much improved side on the last couple of years and we've been in most games for a lot longer than last year. This year we've lost a couple that we should have won and we've won a couple that we should have lost. 10th on the ladder is about right for where we are at the moment.

The thing about punting a coach is that we would basically be hitting the reset button again because a new coach usually tries to overhaul the squad again and would be trying to implement some new stuff which would feel like change for the sake of change tbh and after another couple of "rebuilding" years we would then be calling for that coach's head as well.

We are short on quality front rowers and Brown is clearly trying to address that, I have faith that him and Mooney will deliver what we need just like they did with Pearce last year.

Also by this time last year our only signing was Ponga and we had missed out on a few others already and it didn't look like we would get anyone else. Then by the time this season kicked off we had another 5 or 6 quality first graders signed.

Let's have faith that they'll get the job done. That being said I think it's time to up our order to Ah Mau, he's worth paying a bit more for imo. Then we would need one more quality front rower and I'd be fairly happy.

If our middle forwards rotation was 6 Hermans we would have the best pack in the comp.

LOL, we're not improved at all, we're the same bad team with one of the 5 best players in the comp added.

The problem Brown now faces Knightside is that his team will most probably be 15th on the ladder by end of R16 and if we lose both games against Parra we could be in a fight with them for the spoon.

I say possibly and could BUT..... I can not see this side aiming up in defence often enough to stop the slide.

Wests might stick with Brown no matter the result this year but I couldn't blame them for punting him looking at the type of footy we are dishing up. It is pathetic.

If Pearce wasnt injured we wouldnt of lost yesterday and its fair to say it could of been very different against Penrith and Souths, that would put us near the top of the ladder and these conversations wouldnt even be taking place.

Long way to go until kick off next year, our younger guys are continuing to learn and will be improved players for the experience. A couple of more props and the addition of Ramien will make a huge difference not to mention the return of Pearce ( the best kicking game in football ) and Moga. We're much improved on years gone by and on track in the rebuild. Keep the faith.

Oh and did I mention we have the hottest young player of a generation in Sir Ponga = stoked

Yeah I agree that questions need to be asked of Brown but they've been making all the moves to re-sign him recently and I don't see that changing after a couple of poor games.

I get the impression that we're so jaded as a supporter base now that we are pretty quick to assume that we'll lose all our games for the rest of the year and plummet down to last place.

I would be lying if I said that the above thought didn't cross my mind from time to time but I really don't see us losing all our games, I still think we'll win around 10 games which is a fair reflection of where the team is at and would be a massive improvement given what we've been through over the last few years.

The reality is that a poor 20 minutes really cost us yesterday, the rest of our game wasn't that bad. Over the last couple of years there were games where we would be terrible for 50 or 60 minutes so we're steadily making improvements on that.

Obviously getting a couple of decent front rowers will help our chances next year but Brown can only do his best with the cattle he has at his disposal now.

I don’t think they punt him this year. But they will put the blowtorch on him if we are down the bottom of the ladder.

And I think it’s top 8 or bust next year.... which will require both a great run with injuries and a few decent props.
