I would be having a look towards England for props. Scott Taylor is an English international from Hull with good size - 191cm and 118kg. He would be my pick. looking at the NRL there isnt a great deal outside Pangai who we should be throwing alot of money at. Looking at off contract players, Kelepi Tanginoa showed abit of aggression at Manly before his injury. Nick Lui Toso is a young and aggresive front rower from Penrith but he is yet to play first grade. Both could be okay squad players but there just isn't alot out there at the moment.

Pearce can't conjure up victories against decent sides like Penrith and Souths with the pack getting smashed Knight Vision. Yes we would be better with him and possibly could have jagged the win yesterday if he were there but he aint going to get us home in those other games with the marshmellows playing in front of him.

If we look and get a Pom prop think would like him here for whole entire pre-season, in other words 4 weeks after this years G/final otherwise he would be underdone fitness and game speed.

It’s a good point I’m just not sure what options we have. The risk with a forward from the Super League is if they turn out like Graham/Whitehead or Mossop/Greenwood. I’m saying that Taylor at 27 and an English international I think he should be fine

Does anyone think we should have another look at Papali? He'll want pretty big money but he's a proven performer and pretty explosive. Could trim him down a bit during preseason to get more minutes out of him. If we can't get another big name maybe throw some good coin at him and maybe pick up a couple of younger guys on the cheap.

I wouldn’t be against it. The raiders forwards all strike me as risks especially if they drop the interchange. But if he’s fit he would make a huge difference. With the Raiders losing Boyd and Paulo I can’t see them letting Papalii go

All of our victories been on the back of Ponga’s individual brilliance.

Think if we do score a prop we will have to pay well over to get them, we are in bad need so gives them more leverage.

Think that is the biggest problem facing EPL players coming out here, mtrouble adjustingbtonthevpace of the game and workload required not all are able like Graham
Agree. Spent some time re Graham on my original reply, but couldn't really articulate so deleted. But the age old adage of the tough pommy forward is exactly what we are missing. Bitterly disappointed we went soft on Graham, Dogs paying the bill and look at St George. If anyone was to get the Soft-fiti's up to standard it was him.

He wasn't coming to Newcastle. Didn't want to move his kids out of their school.
