Rumoured Targets 3

Souths lost 4 of their last 7 in regular season too Mac.

Any time the twins were allowed to roll forward, Souths inevitably got the win.

Teams prepared to jam them low and hard and limit their go forward were much more successful.

Teams prepared to hit low and hard first and foremost. Dumb sides that make contact up high on the twins deserve to be punished by giving away huge metres. Some sides are slow to catch on or don't have forwards with the technique required to do the job.

They all wrestle, no matter who says what.

Some do it better than others.

Are you claiming their last 7 losses were all due to ruck cheating?

According to the mole, we've let clubs here and in England know that Ross is available should anyone want him, and we've gone cold on Luke and are now setting our sights on Segeyaro

To be fair, he'd probably struggle to get a look in now.

I think it's just part of modern salary cap management. You sign players, and then you manage them out once you have better options come along - either through recruitment or pathways. All clubs do it. It's just that we've usually had to play the people that should be managed out, because there were no better options.

Not unhappy about Luke. At his best he'd be a good buy.

But that is a gamble.

A decent rake is hard to find though.

Levi really needs to cut the dumb crap from his game this season.

Ross would be a star in the UK but a step behind here. I don't think he gets offers from the NRL.

The obvious answer is move Watson to hooker. I can't believe we aren't doing it.

I think that option still made sense when we had Meaney coming through but I suspect the role for Watson is likely to be the full back now Ponga is being slated for a 5/8 role

Think Segayaro is full of mistakes, more so than Levi, very hot and cold player.
I know Ross won't make firsts in 2019 unless very serious injuries but he does give us depth and covers the f/b which is a weak position if injury to Watson or Ponga. But at same time it's only a rumour he is up for grabs.

Not sure how much truth there is to the rumour but I’d rather we kept Ross, we’ve only got one more winger on the books (Edrick Lee) than we did last year so it’s not like our depth is that much better on the wing. Besides while Ross showed this year he’s not a great centre I still rate him as a solid first grade winger, he’s a good finisher and makes good metres out of dummy half and can cover FB if we’re stretched.

People have mentioned maybe Watson to #9 but I don’t know how his defence would hold up in that spot, I’d rather have him at FB where he can sniff around the ruck for offloads and use his speed to good effect.

Lino is a good signing imo. Upgrade on Lamb/Cogger and hopefully we can bring in another half (maybe Frawley) to give us some extra depth. The fact that he’s a good goal kicker is interesting, Sio and Ponga need some serious practice over the off season if either of them wants to keep the job full time.

Also would like to see us go after Segyaro, he’s got some similarities to Levi in the way he plays but at least he’s been around a while and wouldn’t cost as much as Luke. If anything having another first grade quality hooker in the squad will push Levi to play his best every week and cut out the crap in his game. If the two of them both hit some form then a rotation of Levi and Segyaro would be really dangerous imo.

Segayaro is interesting but seems more of a bench impact hooker rather than a starter. Still better than Levi. How old is he?
