Not sure what's so controversial about that.

Brown has shown very little coaching-wise thus far and sione was a dumpster fire this year.

It's funny how history gets rewritten to suit an agenda. Sione was bad until he was switched in D, after which he steadily improved throughout the year, being quite potent with the ball in hand in particular. You went very quiet on the issue during the back half of the year.

Perverse and defending sione, like a moth to the flame.

Go watch the sharks game and tell me how good he went. If you make Luke capwell look like a superstar, dumpster fire is probably being kind.

Thankfully brown has stamped his papers in terms of playing centre.

Now why would I want to disappoint you?

The greatest rugby league minds are apparently resident in this forum, and no one can explain what brown does well coaching wise.

Other than "he bought better players" of course, which imo isn't coaching.
Is anyone really pushing this barrow here? I feel like you've got your forums mixed up.

Recent interview (no reference) with Lino says he knows that he has to work on being a half and is picking up a lot from Pearce and hopes to learn more
I'd like to see him focus on hooker as well given a utility off the bench that can kick goals would be a bonus.

Lino’s a bad defender. No way you’d put him in the middle.

Under Brown's watch

Dsaf - from NRL debut to inclusion in the emerging blues squad with a big future
Levi - handful of NRL games to NZ rep
Griffin- around 20 NRL appearances to NZ rep
Herman - 31 NRL appearances to NZ rep
Sione - another inclusion in emerging blues squad
Ponga- few games of NRL unable to get a regular start to Players player and Dally M runner up
Fitz- a few NRL games to one of the best up and coming edge rowers in the game
Ross - a few NRL games to City Rep
Barnett - reserve grader to Danny Buderus medal winner

People can nitpick and argue about it but the above are facts of player improvement during Brown watch - I'd say the bloke can coach.

Newcastle star Mitchell Pearce has revealed he made a phone call to David Klemmer from Bali in a bid to lure the powerhouse prop to the Knights in 2019.

Klemmer’s exit from Canterbury during the pre-season appears inevitable with Channel 9 reporting the Australia Test star’s management will meet with the Bulldogs on Wednesday in what could signal the end of his time at the club.

The Knights are ready to swoop with a multimillion-dollar deal and even got their halfback to play the roll of recruiter during negotiations.

“I had a chat to him when I was in Bali, the club got me to give him a ring,” Pearce told Channel 9.

“I’ve got a good relationship with him and I’ve always had a lot of respect for him so I hope it works itself out.”

Pearce said Klemmer would fit in seamlessly at the Knights.

“I’ve got all my fingers crossed,” he said.

“I really love ‘Klem’ as a bloke and I think he’d be so perfect for this team.

“I’m sure the town with embrace him, everyone loves a hard man up front that leads your pack.”

Dylan Napa has an offer from the Bulldogs
With the Bulldogs resigned to losing Klemmer, Channel 9 and The Australian’s Brent Read also report the club have zeroed in on Sydney Roosters prop Dylan Napa as a potential replacement.

Napa still has one year remaining on his Tricolours contract and would need a release in order to switch club.

The Bulldogs have reportedly tabled an offer of around $600,000 per season to Napa.

“I would be shocked if he doesn’t take it,” Read told Triple M’s Rush Hour with MG.

We don't need Napa, Gavet's the better of the 2.
Fair call looking at last years stats.

Napa - 20 games, 76m, 28 post contact metres, 0.6 tackle breaks, 0.25 offloads, 86% tackle efficiency
Gavet - 19 games, 99m, 36 post contact metres, 0.6 tackle breaks, 0.5 offloads, 87% tackle efficiency

Napa only had 2 games where he cracked the 100m mark.

Gavet would presumably be on less than Napa so that's just good business. Napa's best attribute is his aggression in defence (when he feels like it), but Gavet has plenty of that in his game too, without the reputation at the judiciary.

off those stats Napa is hugely over rated.
