Most on here are making assumptions based on severe depression for the past years of failures. Do not expect miracles for 2020, young players such as Best, Crossland, To’a etc May make it but give them time. Our squad is totally unbalanced with lots of forwards and very few backs so it will take a season to sort out the keepers, get rid of those we don’t need/want and then buy those we want/need. Let’s just be competitive in 2020 with further improvements after that.

This is what I hate about rugby league at the moment, everyone thinks they’re being underpaid. There are plenty of hot and cold players out there who strut around expecting a pay rise or they’ll go elsewhere yet I’ve never seen a player offer to pay some of their contract back when they have a bad year. They always want more $$$ after a few good games which is ridiculous.

Paying more than about $500K for a Centre is asking for trouble. Latrell is good but he’s parked out on the left and doesn’t exactly go looking for the ball. If someone pays him $1m I just can’t see how he could deliver on that value. Sure he’ll score some nice looking tries but on the whole he isn’t touching the ball enough to justify that coin.

1 million is a percentage of the cap set aside for playmakers or spine players. Those players that more often than not decide the outcome of the game.

South Sydney pay big money for backs eg 750K for a winger so I'm sure they can give Latrell his 7 figures.

They are absolutely desperate for centres.

Roosters have withdrawn their offer now, the bloke will end up at the Titans at this stage haha...
Or with us for a year if we are stupid enough to pay a big chunk of his 2020 salary.
"Mitchell is contracted to the Tricolours for next season but NRL.com understands the club would be willing to grant an immediate release should a rival outfit pay enough freight on his 2020 salary."

So, the Dogs don’t want him at $1M, and the Roosters don’t want him at $800K.

How many centres do we have who have scored over 50 tries in a few years?

He’s indicated he wants to move closer to home

We would be crazy to at least not have a go. He is substantially better than what he has. Imagine what he’ll be like when he matures a bit more and is consistent!

Anyone who says they wouldn't have him here is a liar. His talent is immense. Just need to make sure he stays motivated

A player like him can just as easy drop off the radar completely and be added to the very long list of players that could have been something but never did.

He's a high risk high reward signing given the money he is asking.
