Yeah I mentioned his name a week ago on this forum as someone we could target. He’s got a passing game which is handy on a second rower and he’s been good at Manly over the last few years. If we got him for around that $300K mark I wouldn’t be disappointed.

Exactly, if Fitz is pushed out of the starting side (or ideally the 17) then that’s a good result.

He’s improved massively over the last 12 months under O’Brien. He’s developed a nice short passing game and become a good link man in attack.
That is the real elephant in the room with it all, for sure. You can't just sack a coach to retain a player, especially one of Watsons calibre, however it is just further smoke/indication that we're not exactly on a winner with O'Brien. As if our brand of football wasn't enough.
Oddly, I agree with this too. It's hard to argue that he hasn't improved this year. It's hard to say he looks like he fits an actual role in the team, though. It's all just individual stuff.
So I can look back at it in the future to see how right or wrong I was, I reckon him becoming a regular NSW 14 ain't gunna happen.
It is possible, but I don't see it happening either.

Decent backup I guess, and potentially provides us multiple options moving forward if the whole Bailey Hodgson/Ponga to 5/8th thing doesn't work out.
