Not sure why anyones expecting Ponga to activate his player options before he needs to. Whether he wants to stay or not is irrelevant tbh and its the smart play to wait. Anyone in the the same position in any industry would do the same

I personally think he'll stay cause he seems to love the town and club. His family is also pretty settled in Newie and you get the impression that thats pretty important to him too

Yeah put yourselves in the same shoes and you’d wait too. Of course it’s frustrating for the fans but he’s entitled to wait as long as he wants within the rules of the contract.

Except that's not what he has said at all. It's the usual blowing smoke up everyone's arse about how much KP loves the knights while actually not signing on the dotted line or having a million get out clauses.

“Kalyn has to weigh up whether he could win a premiership with a new club like the Dolphins," Ponga said. "They have signed a few experienced players like the Bromwich boys and Felise Kaufusi.

Ie. He would love to take the dump truck full of money the dolphins are going to deliver to his door, but not if they are going to suck for years.

It is exactly what he says. Badel even dedicates paragraph to it. Literally says they will stay loyal to Knights.

Same old same old, used to get a better deal, it’s not done until paper is signed and then some doubt still exists

Any word on what day We will know about the results of Milfords court case?
Found this on a google search...

And the only article I saw that referenced court date (below) indicates it is likely only to set a Trial Date.

"....Milford's court case - where he will defend three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of wilful damage involving a vehicle - follows an alleged incident in Fortitude Valley last September. The case is set to be mentioned in court next month (February), however, it's likely to only give a trial start date, meaning the timeline on any link with the Knights is unknown."

The Courier-Mail can reveal five NRL rivals, including Newcastle and Wests Tigers, have lodged expressions of interest in the 18-year-old, who is rated the Cowboys’ most exciting forward prospect since Jason Taumalolo.

While the Cowboys are under pressure to retain Nanai, the North Queensland have retained boom backrower Luki for a further three years.

Knights recruitment chief Clint Zammit helped lure Nanai to the Cowboys during his previous stint at the club and is banking on his relationship with the explosive back-rower to deliver him to Newcastle.

Nanai has even bigger raps on him than Luki. The article says he'll be getting offers of around $500k per year after 4 first grade games. Dolphins also want him.

I remember asking the question when it was first mentioned we were after a backrower from the cowboys. Nanai did seem to have a higher ceiling IMO.

It's a hard market at the moment because the Dolphins will throw around all the cash they have a drive up prices. Also, can't blame any Queenslander choosing WB and the new franchise over us.

Luki is the better player right now but Nanai has far more potential imo. He's a freak of an athlete much like SBW (obvs not at that level just yet)
