Had a quick compare on stats website of Hetherington/Elliott/Fitz.

Tough on Hetherington because the sample is so low (4 gm) but breaks fewer tackles/offloads less than Fitz which is a bit disheartening.

Hethrington played only 2 games and then got injured early in the 3rd game but in the 2 full games he played averaged like 130m a game against 2 good teams in the Cowboys and Broncos, Fitz is averaging less than 70m a game this year which is pathetic for a 80 min forward whos not exactly an impact player

He’s raw and very loose defensively but you can see he is on another level over there. I am curious however where he fits if we are trying to sign Milf.

Yeah his skills will be wasted on the wing. Centre I could see him being good at. Plenty of pressure on Best next season - which is a good thing.

With those skills? You pick your best team though. Best will be certainly under the pump to keep his spot if this is the case. They may even choose to move Dom in closer. Switch Gags left next season.
Hes playing in the ESL right now. Throwing him into the NRL in a key position would be way too risky

Give him time on the wing to get used to the step up in pace and skill level first

Currently I hate him but I’m sure I would love him immediately if he put a knights jersey on. If we’re serious about ever being a premiership threat at all we need to put a blank cheque in front of Munster.

My thoughts, hate him but if he wore Knights colours would love it

Munster’s relationship to O’Brien would be closer than most coaches relative to Bellyache you’d think, and I wonder if that is a big reason Gardner has not questioned his position yet. Also the other consideration is Obi and Zammit might be privately selling a massive restructure and that the current side are treading water until they get what why are after. Making the top 8 two years running is not exactly a bad bargaining chip.
You only have to look at Payten. Always had gun talents. Just had to find out what he wanted and expected from them. Our issue is the opposite. We don’t have that talent. Not yet. Pryce and KPP are huge steps in that direction. If they expect to play under O’Brien then we give him till the end of his deal. If it brings Munster to the table then ditto. Nothing pisses a player off more than being sold one thing and getting another before they even wear the jersey.

KNIGHTS DELIVER ANOTHER BLOW TO RAIDERS

Newcastle look to have scored another victory over Canberra after it emerged that Canterbury firebrand Jack Hetherington was leaning towards joining the Knights next season.

Hetherington has been given permission to leave the Bulldogs, leaving Canberra and Newcastle to jostle for his services.

The Knights already landed a blow on Canberra when they stole Adam Elliott for next season.

They look set to repeat the feat after the Raiders were told that Hetherington was likely to join Newcastle next season. Confidential understands that family reasons rather than money were a major consideration for Hetherington as he weighed up his next move.

He won’t be at the Bulldogs next season despite having a mutual option to remain at the club.
