Didn't include Crossland, Saulo or Hoy because they're all off-contract so not swap candidates. I would have no problem getting rid of Jones but think the others would be more likely. Bailey Hodgson may even be keen to go back and play regular top grade if he can't get his foot in the door here.

Clune is 26 and will be a backup half here or anywhere in the NRL, both Wigan & Huddersfield would be interested in a half with Leuluai retiring and Pryce on the move.

Fitzgibbon or Johns to Wigan make the most sense replacing KPP. Matt Johns played for Wigan too which wouldn't hurt.

There are those who believe Hetherington could play Origin if he stopped the BS. Panthers got sick of his ill discipline but were very keen to keep him. Pretty sure he went NZ on big money. He’s a proper enforcer. Don’t worry about that. He will belt people. Let’s hope his timing is spot on.

Moses is getting better each year IMO. He would be an elite signing if we can pull it off.

1 Ponga / Pryce / Hodgson
6 Milford / Clifford / Ponga
7 Moses
9 Brailey

Plenty of creativity there.

No way we should be having Clune involved in any player swap. We are paper thin in the halves, and the guy is the perfect type of player to have sitting back in NSW Cup ready to cover injuries etc.

How about the Knights get the best 18 /19 year old in the country and on the cusp of NRL as their back-up and have a succession plan in place for the spine.

The Knights mindset and acceptance of mediocrity is woven into the very fabric of its existence.

Get rid of players like Clune, throw him out along with Hoy, Crossland, Mann, and all the other sub NRL standard players and invest in players with a future.

Revolutionary idea. Why has no other club thought about that?

Clune would aspire to first grade. I don't think he'd get kept in reserves for too long. Bench spot at least.

With our current squad Clune is a likely regular at 7 but what we really need is for him to be playing reserves and occasionally filling in 1sts due to injuries etc otherwise we will be struggling again, still
