The whole Milford/Bennett saga is all a bit strange. If it’s such a done deal then why hasn’t he signed with the Dolphins yet? I’m assuming we’ve put a decent offer on the table for him given he’s been pretty good since coming here and quality halves are really hard to come by at the moment. He’s not worth what he was back at his peak in 2014-2016 but I’d be comfortable with him getting around half that from us. By all reports he’s on a fairly bottom dollar contract at the moment so he’s definitely getting an upgrade either with us or elsewhere for next year and beyond.

@Sir Galahad your previous posts asking who is Dobson and calling him “some guy”.

Do you actually not know who he is?
hopefully he's a game changer, a revelation at the Knights, and one of the greatest signings the club has made in recent memory.

That I dont know who he is may be telling.

I know that he isnt a NRL Premiership winning coach, or highly sought after NRL coach in waiting.

Right, great player, the best but yet to convince me he is either a commentator or a coach of any discription

He played NRL for the Knights in the Bennett-era, and had a half-decent career.

Tough for a Knights fan to know who he is I guess.

Good to have a 15 year old as the authority on people’s CV’s.

There was really nothing worth remembering about his Knights stint, and not much more in the 20 games he played for Canberra half a decade before that. If you don't follow the Super League he's a relative nobody (as plenty of eventual good coaches are).

Matt Minto was our other backup half who played some first grade that season, how much does anyone remember of him?

DOLPHINS UP BID TO POACH KNIGHTS STAR

The Dolphins reportedly have upped their offer for Knights star Anthony Milford in a bid to trump a three-year extension offer from Newcastle.

The Daily Telegraph reported the Dolphins, who initially offered Milford a one year deal for 2023, are now willing to put two years on the table to try band lure the five-eighth away from the Knights.

Milford is torn between returning home to Queensland and repaying the faith the Knights put in him after he was let go by Souths while fighting charges in court, that he has since been cleared of any wrong doing.

The Knights were considered to be in the driving seat for Milford’s signature with the extra security of a three year deal.

However, the Dolphins revised two year offer could be enough to sway Milford to return to Queensland to work under his former Broncos coach Wayne Bennett.

Bennett has shown a keen interest in reuniting with Milford after their strong relationship from their time together at Brisbane.

The 27-year-old has scored 70 tries and 369 points in 198 NRL games for the Raiders, Broncos and Knights since his debut in 2013 and has played two origins for the Maroons and eight Tests for Samoa.

Um, what?

It’s general knowledge of the club to remember that a guy played for us, unless they were before your time.

I absolutely remember Matt Minto playing for us. He didn’t do much either.

Are you going to draw a blank when someone mentions Brayden Musgrove in a few years?

Oh c’mon, every Knights supporter MUST remember Dobson’s long and distinguished career at Newcastle. One of the clubs great players.

I mean Dobbo. The legend. The player others wanted to play with. Club stalwart.

Dobbo.

Dobbo FFS.

Dobson!!!!!!!

What sort of supporters are you blokes not remembering Dobbo.. and Minto???

I just don't think being able to recall Michael Dobson's legendary 6 games for the Knights is the yardstick you're making it out to be.

I already forget that Musgrove exists, if he's still taking up space in my brain 10 years from now I'll be very worried.

Ok. You are doubling down because you downplayed Dobson when it was first announced, and then got upset when people said to steady on.

Who gives a f**k what Dobson did in his playing career, it means 2 10ths of f**k all

Also remembering him or not means just as much

If he can coach he can have the career of Paul Carriage for all I care
He was class half. Very underrated. He’ll be fine as a coach.
