Toohey says true.
NSW halfback Mitchell Pearce has agreed to terms with the Newcastle Knights on a four-year deal worth just under $4 million.
Pearce, who earlier this month asked for a release from his Roosters contract, has rebuffed interest from Cronulla and Manly to join Nathan Brown's side from next season.
It is understood the Sharks offer was close to the Knights' offer but the desire to get out of Sydney was fundamental to his decision to sign with Newcastle.
Halfway through the season we had plenty of posters here bemoaning Brown and Mooney's recruitment strategy. I am willing to say now(assuming Pearce is a done deal) that they backed themselves and it has paid off pretty handsomely.

Yes there may be one or two changes to that team like Sio or Fitzgibbon but just for illustration ^^
And apparently we still have the money for a great prop and an experienced centre.

Ponga is playing fullback and halfback, he is more talented than I thought. lolHalfway through the season we had plenty of posters here bemoaning Brown and Mooney's recruitment strategy. Anyway, nice looking side there
Let the ink dry on the contract before deathriding the coach...Expectations change for net year now. Must make the top 8 or will begin to question Brown as a coach. Will be a very interesting next 12 months for the club.
