I hope so for you guys, a very experienced halfback (who knees work) is exactly what is required.

NSW halfback Mitchell Pearce has agreed to terms with the Newcastle Knights on a four-year deal worth just under $4 million.

Pearce, who earlier this month asked for a release from his Roosters contract, has rebuffed interest from Cronulla and Manly to join Nathan Brown's side from next season.

It is understood the Sharks offer was close to the Knights' offer but the desire to get out of Sydney was fundamental to his decision to sign with Newcastle.

Probably solves the "need to spend the cap" issue too.

Halfway through the season we had plenty of posters here bemoaning Brown and Mooney's recruitment strategy. I am willing to say now(assuming Pearce is a done deal) that they backed themselves and it has paid off pretty handsomely.

1. Ponga
2. Ross
3. Moga
4. Sione
5. SKD
6. Watson
7. Pearce
8. D Saifiti
9. Levi
10. Ese'ese
11. Buhrer
12. Guerra
13. Barnett

14. J Saifiti
15. Lillyman
16. Heighington
17. Griffin

Yes there may be one or two changes to that team like Sio or Fitzgibbon but just for illustration ^^

And apparently we still have the money for a great prop and an experienced centre.

I think it'll work out well. He cops way too much shit for what happens at SOO level. He's a very good club player who puts in a lot of effort and has a point to prove. Will go well for the knights. Things really seem to be looking up for the club.

That's looking like a solid lineup and has some potential future stats in it. Can't remember the last time I've been so positive about the knights line-up.

Ponga is a great talent but I doubt he's that good!

Anyway, nice looking side there

Expectations change for net year now. Must make the top 8 or will begin to question Brown as a coach. Will be a very interesting next 12 months for the club.
