Impressive cap management if we can sort all of that.

It better not be. He's already one of, if not the highest paid player now. Will be interesting how much of that cap space goes towards trying to keep Ponga.
I think all of his contracts with us have been upgraded only part way through??

We have a great opportunity to build strongly around him and if he wants to win a comp that's what we need to do.
Most clubs can afford 2x million dollar playersMunster will sign with the Dolphins I reckon. Storm reported to be asking him to take a 2 million dollar pay cut over 3-4 years. Anasta is his manager now, and reading the room on NRL 360, Braith basically gave the impression his choice is already made for him. If so then they cannot afford KP at his current asking price.
And then I assume you can go down the path of renegotiation and front loading a contract or two as well if need be?Yeah you can, but only 5%, ~450k
the Sardines wont be short of 3rd party deals, Bennett doesnt go to decks not stacked.
To Ponga I reckon that he hasnt signed the player option is not a good sign some 8 weeks out from a deadline. The interview I heard with Cam Smith sounded as if he was out the door.
And killed their depth. They have none. Most clubs can afford 2x million dollar players
look at manly….they have Dce ( 2nd highest paid player) and turbo on big coin….and jurbo wouldn’t be on too much less than Tom
Just teams just shut down Turbo now (like they used to with Ponga) and it nullifies their attack. And killed their depth. They have none.
You’d probably want someone who can count to 100 representing you financially but each to their own.The most disturbing thing I've read in the last few posts is that not only is Braith Anasta a player manager, he's a player manager for a big player like Munster.

to be fair i think we all kind of knew Ponga wasn't going to commit until he had a firm idea where we were at as a club. Obviously the way we started the season (leaving aside Barnett's brain explosion today) is a positive sign as is the investment in coaching staff and facilities.I didn’t like the way he responded to Fittler last week on Channel 9. Fittler asked if he was going to re-sign with the Knights. Ponga trotted out a whole lot of “I don’t think that far ahead, I leave all that to my manager” garbage.
I’m a big Ponga fan and hope we keep him but it was pretty offputting. A couple of months ago he was throwing out the “I love this group of lads and want to win a comp with them” instead.

is this the same Bennett who in the past has signed guys like BJ Leilua, David Faalogo, Tevita Pangai Junior and Matt Lodge?Bennett has been quoted, as nauseum, that it is vital the Dolphins are very careful to recruit only players who are of the highest quality off the field. Culture is above all else.
If he sticks to that mantra…
