Even we’re not dumb enough to let him go. He went a long way backwards this year but is the only First Grade standard half we have on our books next season. To let him go now means we’re completely writing off the 2023 season.

Isaac Moses has gotten his license back. Reckon drastic shift will happen at the club now since he manages so many of our players?

I think Parr will deal with him and his influence here will be very limited. I’d say Parr knows every tactic this guy uses. It is exactly why Phil needs to step aside as NRL CEO, hand it to Parry, and just function as the financial owner and decision maker. At that Phil is undeniably great. He still has final executive say. It is not exactly a hard thing to sort.

yep, it's the same story as To'a and Sisagi. To'a was a schoolboys star as a fullback and centre but AOB refused to play him anywhere but on the wing even when Hoy and Mann were at peak derp level, goes to Tigers and has been pretty solid for them at centre, Sisagi came here as a 5/8th, we decided he was a centre than 12 months later we decided he's a middle but the only time he gets a start is at centre or wing

As we need a halfback more then anything else and everyone seems to be all in on Hastings, is was thinking of another with a bright future who is young as well.

How about Lachlan Illias. He has performed quite well this year, is showing signs of being able to direct the side around and Souths probablty wont be able to offer as much as well could given they need to re-sign Latrell and Cody. He is signed till end of 2023 though, which all halfbacks seem to be.

Also we should be going after Oates for next season to be our winger

Don’t see any point in signing a half if no better than Clune or even Crosslands and especially if not available until 2024.
We may have to put up with what we have until more come of contract, hopefully we will make a strong bid for any suitable one even if have to over pay

This is not the solution. If we are the same basket case this time next year as we are now, we won't be signing anybody. The overs we would have to pay would kill us.

My point was that it’s doubtful that any, mature or youthful 7 currently playing reserves isn’t what we want, if we can’t get a better 7 than what we have why bother, get by with what we have and keep trying to sign an upgrade whenever one is available, if that’s now, 3months, mid season 2023 or heaven help us later than that.
If we signed a big name 6 or 7 such as a Moses or Munster for 2024 we would most likely have to get by 2023 with what we have anyway

If we are targeting a Moses or Munster for 2024, the other half spot should go to Pryce. Let him have the year to get used to his role. Won't really matter who the other half is because we will be getting a replacement in 2024.

We should forget about Munster and Moses. Concentrate on Pryce. Make no mistake if he is as good as they say we will need the money to keep him. The thing to remember is Munster and Moses are both pushing 30 in 2024 Will is 19. A literal decade difference. We need to be smarter.

Pryce is still only 19 and has plenty of errors in his game, most being the result of an extremely confident young player who can be guilty of overplaying his hand. Easier to rein that in than it is to instil that sort of confidence in a timid half but he's far from a finished product, nor is he a sure thing to ever pan out.

If the right half becomes available you get him in the door and worry about fit later. The way I see it we're 2 halves short as it is anyway.

i think most of you are missing the most important part, the likes of Moses and Munster aren't coming anywhere near us, we need to think of realistic options and go after them. Yes its not what we want, but its where we currently find ourselves.

We have fallen so far down the list of desired clubs we need to be smarter with recruitment, there is no point going after Moses or Munster, then getting disapointed when we don't land them. We'd need to be paying them a minumum of $1.2 million, because thats a minumum of what it'll cost us. That then leaving us no cape space to buy other players for depth throughout the squad for injuries or poor form. Thats part of our problem now, we have no depth

So because you've decided we are no chance, we should just... not try?

Toohey’s News

- Hayden Knowles may be on the way out at the Knights with ‘sources’ suggesting he has lost the support of the playing group and some staff members.
- Looks like Parr’s first act will be making sure the Head of Pathways is in fact a standalone role, and the club is now likely looking for a ‘senior assistant for the NRL squad. Michael Dobson had been reported to take over as Pathways boss as well as coaching the NSW Cup team and acting as a ‘transitions’ coach for the NRL squad. Now it sounds like the plan is to have the 3 roles handled by 3 different staff members, and Parr said during the week they are hopeful of Dobson heading up the Pathways role but didn’t sound like a done deal yet.
- Toohey advocates for giving Pasami Saulo a new contract. Says he offers something Klemmer and the Saifiti’s don’t; good leg speed.
- ‘Won’t come as a surprise’ if Krystian Mapapalangi makes his debut before the season finishes. He was upgraded into the final top 30 spot.
- Knights head of recruitment Clint Zammit was spotted deep in conversation with the injured Luke Brooks at the Knights-Tigers game last weekend.
