Toohey's News

- Kalyn Ponga & Kurt Mann have been cleared by both the NRL & the Knights and won't face any sanctions, but Toohey still thinks Ponga should publicly apologise to Knights fans.
- Pasami Saulo has signed a 2-year deal with the Raiders and maybe it might possibly come back to bite the Knights one day.
- Broncos have won 8/8 this season when Knights-bound Tyson Gamble plays. Now they've brought him back in for the must win game this week.
- Brodie Croft is understood to have reached out to the Knights but Toohey calls it a long shot.
- Dom Young's manager says he's already been told by England's coach that he'll be selected in their World Cup squad.
- Bradman Best is eligible for Wales but has ruled himself out to focus on pre-season.
Saulo to Raiders, 2 years, by then Klem likely gone and if young brigade don’t come good he can always be made an offer, hope he goes well in Canberra

Dez looks to be on the way out at Manly. Would anyone say no to a Dez-Garrick combo deal? I certainly wouldn't. Results this year haven't been favourable for him, but I think a large part of that is due to the division cause by the bible bashers in the club (and obvs Turbos injury). He's a proven coach and seems to have the respect of his players. I was mightily impressed with how he handled the jersey drama a few weeks back

He's the hard ass type I believe we need next, but I think he has a record of poor recruitment and retention which we don't need again.

He worries me a little but his record shows he takes which ever team he's at, to the finals.

Months ago I pointed at Hasler & Arthur as the 2 established coaches I could see us chasing hard if the AOB experiment is ended. Hasler has drawbacks but he excels in areas where our side could really use a kick up the backside. Would take him in a heartbeat. Tell him to bring whichever scout is finding the likes of Olaka'atu, Paseka, Koula & Tuipulotu with him.

Dasler is usually good at playing a power game too, so he may get our forwards rolling as they should.

Yes to Garrick

No to Des. He seems difficult to deal with and when he doesn't get what he wants it seems like he tanks the team to get a payout and leave. Thats what he did at the Dogs if you ask Dogs fans

I'd prefer Toovey over Des

I'm sure they weren't complaining when he got them to two grand finals though

Tanks the team? His success speaks for itself. Five GFs at two seperate clubs. As for the Dogs fans complaints they have never come close to his success since. You can argue his cap management there was high stakes. a lot of back loading deals as i recall? He made two GFs in his first three years there. I'd take one of those appearances just to know we are actually heading in the right direction.
