Would give up Kai immediately in exchange for Trey Mooney tbh.
I would have agreed with this 2 years ago but he’s stagnated imo. KPP has just as much potential to become a top player now.

Barnett is a Knights junior.Barnett? Leo? Schiller?
I’d argue that other than Tapine they’re all better players than the ones we’ve lost to them (Schiller TBD), and all on pretty cheap contracts.
how 3 time Buderus Medal winner Barnett is playing for the Warriors is irrelevant. He was the leader of the Knights pack, 27 years old and the void left by his departure fairly self evident. Are we pretending Barnett played as well for us as he did for the Warriors the last 2 years?
Yeah this was my point, I'd take current Barnett back in a heartbeat but it's revisionist history pretending he was a leader of ours or anything but 'above average' for us.I reckon he needed the change of scenery. He was good for us but not close to what he’s been for NZ.
Happy for him doing so well. Always had a crack and couldn’t question his effort even with the dumb shit he did.
IMO it’s just the logjam of middles they have at Canberra + Ricky being a weird coach who doesn’t give consistent minutes/roles to his forwards besides his favourites. From what I’ve seen he’s played well when given extended game time.
AOB would plug him in as a starter for 45 minutes every week I reckon and he’d go well for us.
Bedsy Medal winners are more than "above average" . To win 3 times, along with the Knight in Shinning Armor Award would suggest many within the club think he was indeed a leader - I think they'd should know, don't you? . I certainly think he was - nothing "revisionist " about it.Yeah this was my point, I'd take current Barnett back in a heartbeat but it's revisionist history pretending he was a leader of ours or anything but 'above average' for us.
I think AOB is a good coach, and I'd love to see him successful. But this statement if true is fairly damning. No one leaves the Storm to go to another level. Dsaf said similar " was in my comfort zone" - hardly a glowing endorsement.I thought Barnett was good for us. He definitely needed a change of scenery to go to another level which he has,

No doubt the player is responsible for attitude. Dsaf I don't think will improve. I was expecting a bounce this year before slipping back to his usual self.To be honest when everyone else in the squad is developing and getting better but there’s one or two that fall into a comfort zone I think that’s more on the individual players and their maturity levels than the coach. DSaf hasn’t improved since leaving.
Even players that have the same coach throughout often just wake up to themselves when they get older and more mature (like KP for example). I think that’s the case for Barnett. Ironically his best mate at the Knights was DSaf.
He won it twice, not 3 times.Bedsy Medal winners are more than "above average" . Hardly surprising a player improves as they progress through their career. He was just about to hit his peak.
Go back and watch a few games, the man was a beast.
