You sure this article isn't confusing us with another club that's actually competent? I thought we would have had someone drive down already, get down on one knee and beg for Dom to come back. Then offer the Roosters extra transfer money or something.

All the above sounds good. If it was a good middle or something, I'd be all for it but Dom left on such a high note. Don't know how I'd feel if he tarnished his reputation by being a dud in his second stint here.
O’Sullivan runs the show in this department now. The issue could be we lose Marz. Cos he is able to talk to rivals end of this year. And will attract a lot of interest. His yardage makes up for any other short falls in his game.

Don't get the love for Schiller, he's been very ordinary imo. If Dom is 80% of 2023 Dom he walks back into that spot.

At the moment though he’s about 30% of 2023 Dom if he’s lucky, so it’s a valid argument that he wouldn’t deserve to just walk back in. 2023 Dom is obviously a much better player than Schiller, but in recent form he’s been worse than Schiller. Schiller had a shocker against the Warriors no doubt, but Dom’s had shocker after shocker before getting dropped. People seem to be assuming we’d just put him back in the side and he’d suddenly go back to being 2023 Dom but that’s unlikely to be the case.

It all could be moot anyway as the club still haven’t received any confirmation he’s actually available.

I know Dom has been extremely ordinary for the Roosters this season but he still scored something like 25 tries for the Roosters last year so he's still got it in him.. He just needs a good centre to pair with.
2025 Dom is still better than any option we have at the club. The idea that he's not the same player is a bit of hyperbole. His limitations have always been there. Dom's 5 tries from 7 games this season would put him second on our try scoring chart behind Sharpe on 6 tries.

Sharpe was our highest try scorer last season with 11 tries. As you said "2024" Dom still managed to score more than double that amount of tries.

Probably just because he hasn't had any clangers like Marzhew.

At 200k it's a very easy decision though.

Hope we can fix him. Because he is cooked right now.

He'll be fine. You don't forget how to be an athlete. His biggest weapons are his physical attributes, the rest we'll figure out later. For 200k for the next 2 years it's a literal no brainer. You won't find value like that anywhere and the risk is so low.

You need to get some very good players on bargain deals to balance the cap around two players making $2.7 million (and an overall spine spend which is *probably* somewhere between $3.6 and $3.8 million). You probably couldn't ask for a better bargain along these lines than $200K for possibly the single most unstoppable try scoring right winger in the NRL. I almost can't believe this is falling in our lap if true. Is Uncle Nick our best friend now?

Just highlights how good Roosters are as a club at rebuilding. What takes us 2-3 years will literally take them 2-3 weeks.

At this point I question whether Trent Robinson actually ever coaches players to improve? His attitude seems to be that if someone is underperforming then you drop them and try to move them out rather than actually putting the time in to coach them. Obviously I’m not in the four walls there so I don’t really know what goes on but it’s basically a luxury that he’s got where a player maybe isn’t performing how he would like so let’s bring another guy in to replace him.

Whereas you compare that to AOB who doesn’t have the squad depth or the tools at his disposal to just sign whoever he wants and has to actually develop his players.

Not saying AOB is a better coach or anything but jeez some coaches have it much easier than others don’t they.
