they will offload some. Gus is the king of offloading discards.
Doesn't seem to be doing it before he's got his other ducks lined up, though. Unlike us who seem to think we can turf half our team with no-one else lined up - and then attract quality replacements to the least attractive club in the league after the fact (at or below market rate too!).

I'm pretty deeply concerned about our approach to this cleanout (if my banging on about it for months wasn't clear I guess lol). I feel like Peter O'Sullivan is living in some idealistic pixie dream land. Might work when you're recruiting for a club that has anything at all going for it that you can sell.

Storm, Roosters, Warriors, Dolphins.

We are by far his hardest job. Would love to hear his pitch.

O’Sullivan has made no secret that paying overs and ratchet clauses will not be entertained by him. So it should surprise no one this fell through. He is in no hurry. If it happens it happens.

The plan for the future obviously rotates around Brown so sign him at whatever rate and then build the side to accommodate. Money spent now for the hard work of building without overspending so we get the mixture of quality and numbers, I am happy to wait and see

Do the Dogs have a salary cap? Or a top 30 for that matter? More like a top 50 the way they sign players left and right.

Gould's long term strategic tap dance to a Premiership versus the Knights (pre Sully) short term scatter gun spandau ballet to being average.

Canberra same. Long term vision/investment. Think they're competitive now? just wait a few years.

I’d say the only way he’s coming here is for the starting no.9 spot. Which I don’t hate tbh. Phoenix has done a decent job over the last few seasons considering he’s had to learn the position whilst playing it, but it’s clear we need a running threat from hooker. Phoenix can do a good job at lock or 14 so I don’t mind this move at all if indeed it does happen.
