Yeah the Safs are only 28 now so both probably should be coming into their prime as front rowers. Obviously they haven’t turned into rep stalwarts like we thought they might which is a shame.
I think at minimum you haven't lost out. Thompson was lazy and over rated. Mooney has something to prove.I know we like to shit on JSaf, but he’s the only prop we have that can consistently pump out 100+ metres.
Just on that: good to see Mooney crack 130m when he’s still just adjusting to the nrl. When was the last time Leo did that? We might not have just replaced him, but gotten an upgrade.
Yeh I had visions of 2 Petero Civoniceva's dominating the NRL for a decade. Same stature just not the same dogged will toDidn't we debut them at 18? And practically ran the poor C's into the ground, quite a few careers that got killed during Browns rebuild. - Necessary evil though thanks to the plague pit that Bennett left our club in.
agreed, could do with a couple more hard nosed leaders in the group.Nothing wrong at all with JSaf, but I feel like we need a hard-nosed leader to give us a bit more grit.
yeh and maybe needs that money for some upgrades/extensions.Mere speculation on my part. O’Sullivan does not give off the vibe of wanting to buy back the farm at a higher price.
Peteo came into a team dominating and with plenty of leaders to learn from. Unfortunately for the Safs, they came in during the worst era of probably any NRL team.Yeh I had visions of 2 Petero Civoniceva's dominating the NRL for a decade. Same stature just not the same dogged will to
win and mongrel.
this is true but that's many years ago now, both just don't have the fire, there's the odd game here and there, but overall disappointing.Peteo came into a team dominating and with plenty of leaders to learn from. Love him for a team in a win now spot. Would hate to see us spend on him.
I think we will probably get a clearer picture in 6 months, given we have guys like Votano, Hunt, Wilson DeCourcey and Toby Winter who are all very young things can change a lot.Who's next in line for the right centre position? Votano? Schiller? Hunt? If Gagai can keep up his level, probably still a better option?

From our current squad I think McCarthy and De Courcey are the favouritesWho's next in line for the right centre position? Votano? Schiller? Hunt? If Gagai can keep up his level, probably still a better option?
Agree but the coaching staff seem to like himMcCarthy does not excite me, at all
