speculation, all the talk, There was even talk, There has been speculation, It is understood, Fairfax Media understands

Yep, Interesting points indeed.

All the ingredients for a bullshit sandwich if you ask me. They know nothing, and are wildly speculating over what might be some wild rumors flying around.

I swear they can't let us have even 24 hours of enjoyment following a gutsy win, they have to lay the fricken boots in don't they?

Pauli left 29 Jan

On 28 Jan sharp denied that Paolo Paulii or any other player would have to leave for cap reasons

On 3 February he repeated that statement in relation to the cap investigation

Numerous posters on here and on the other site immediately pointed out the fact that he had been bullshitting on 28 Jan

And it has gotten worse since then as it became apparent how little f**king idea he had

You keep sticking up for him though and run with your John grant loony tunes shit

That and saying brig back spags will probably help take your mind off being a middle aged virgin

To suggest that Pauli Pauli is no longer at the club because of cap reasons is ridiculous. He's at Newcastle because we no longer wanted him or needed him.

Yep from all reports he was well down the pecking order during pre season. Tanginoa even had leap frogged him as did Ualesi

This type of arrangement is not unprecedented. I remember Sterling and Kenny were allowed to play in England for Hull KR and Wigan respectively in 1985 and they didn't return until about April.

Back then the Challenge Cup final was played in early May.

Mike Eden was our halfback for our first half a dozen games. Don't remember who played 6, maybe Ron Quinn?

This could be the beginning of something and to be honest can you blame the players for chasing the big money?

Well, you certainly can't blame players for chasing the big money, but you can blame them if, in doing so, they refuse to adhere to the terms of the contract they chose to sign. Nobody forced the bloke to sign his current deal. And you can blame Foran too, if he chases the money, even if he doesn't breach his contact.

The Sterling, Kenny, Ella thing was similar, but also a little different. Those blokes wanted to play for Parra, but we couldn't afford to pay them anywhere near as much as Manly could. So we let them go for part of the season so that they equalise their wages a bit. I'm not sure that Semi is quite so devoted to the Eels...but I might be wong.

It's not ridiculous at all.

He was here, wanted and needed, until we signed Jennings. Then all of a sudden he had to go.

As were junior, pears, Morgan and all the others.

I notice that piece of shit el dicklover has completely changed the subject since his last lie was shown up.

Just a few spags references and nrl conspiracies for him.

prob just sitting in his tinfoil suit spinning the propeller on his hat and throwing darts and his naked pictures of John grant id say

Well if he has split with his partner, that does explain it partly

But this needs to be sorted ASAP either way.....

The players need to realise that people in society split with their partners every day. It is no excuse to stop working, go off the rails and not fulfil your obligations. Footy players are treated like f**ken babies.

Couldn't agree more. Some of these so called tough players are mentally piss weak off it and we pander to them.

Sure. But a decent employer also cuts an employee a bit of slack when times are tough (and of course, it's a 2-way street....that consideration should be reciprocated by the player).

In the present case, it is not clear to me that playing rugby in France / Japan is the standard prescription for relationship breakdown, but there may be some more innovative thinkers out there.

The club statement indicates to me that we either have nothing to worry about or the club is in complete denial. I vote the latter.

Two messages for me in the clubs statement:
1. to the members and general public - "don't just believe what you read/hear on the news"
2. to Semi - "don't think we will do nothing if you just walk away from a legally binding contract. PS: see you next week"

Exactly, don't f**k around. We found you and made you. You owe us until your contract expires.
