Yeah years ago Pricey played in the journos cup as Vernon McGrath
And in 1979 St George tried to hide Mitch Brennan as Micky Lane. They said his centre partner was George Street LOL.
I always love Sterlo's stories regarding trials played in England.....scorers listed as "triallist" or "A.N.Other"

Matt Elliott said last night on ABC that it happened all the time whilst he was Warriors coach. He said it's a cultural thing and they feel obliged to help out.

After I retired from league a friend talked me into playing 3rd grade rugby for a season. The club I played for had recruited 2 Fijians to play 1st grade. One weekend one of the Fijian boys brother came to visit from Canberra where he was contracted to the brumbies. We were short players in 3rd grade and someone talked him into playing. We barely won a game that season but we smashed the opposition on this day or at least he did. He only played at about 70% and just walked through the opposition, he never scored a try though I don't think he wanted to end up on the scorecard.

He played the last 6 mins FFS.

Regardless. Very stupid from a player that should of known better. What happens if he got injured or injured someone in illegal play. Stupid of Paulo considering he's in the spotlight already for the wrong reasons.

Unless you die or lose a body part, you get jack shit from sports insurance for park level

depends which body part, some are worth a fair bit when I ran a club, how they arrive at their valuations is quiet strange

testicles, for example, are worth jack shit

A Parramatta lower grade player helped out for a game or two (played first grade but had a stronger career overseas - his brother was a member of our side) when I was playing in the Tertiary League. There is also a current first grade player at the Sharks who played more than a few games for ACU - Castle Hill shortly before making his first grade debut.

Was that a club for scrote wrestling, because obviously that sport has implied risk to the testicle

Happens all the time in ACT cricket. Different sport I know, but the only time I've genuinely feared for my life on a sporting field was facing a former Shield fast bowler (that was a one off, normally it's grade cricketers) in fking 4th grade one day cricket. Holy shit. It's minor to an extent but it just shouldn't happen in any sport, honestly.

Yeah, Steve and Mark Waugh used to play for Bankstown in grade cricket all the time during their career, just for giggles.

EELS DRAMA NOT OVER YET

PARRAMATTA are fighting to retain Queensland Origin aspirant Corey Norman amid the club’s salary-cap crisis.

The in-form Beenleigh junior has attracted interest from the Panthers and is set to inspect Penrith’s setup before any decision to pledge his long-term future to the Eels.

Norman is asking for around $800,000 a season and on current form can secure that on the open market.

Panthers supremo Phil Gould rates the 25-year-old highly but the club can only afford either Norman or Cowboys prop James Tamou.

If Tamou jumps quickly and accepts a $3 million, four-year deal, the Eels will thank their lucky stars.

Gould has said we have TMM and Cleary in our halves for future. We will be patient and develop them.
He also reckons guys like cartwright could end up the future style 5/8s
