I believe the mean is about $260k, but the median (the price of the 13th highest paid player in your top 25) would be much less than this. Maybe $150k. The mode could be anything, given the number of digits in an NRL contract, but if you grouped them in ranges of +/- $5k I reckon the mode (most common contract value, or in this case, range) wouldn't be much more than minimum salary (just over $80k).

Obviously the reason for this is that the highest paid player in the top 25 is probably on at least ten times the amount of the lowest paid player. The top five paid players could take up half the cap.

I think you are correct Pou. I work with one of the coaching staff at souths and was told at the beginning of the year they were going in with 9 players on minimum wage. That is high but I reckon a number of clubs would have a similar amount on or near minimum.

No not at all. I had great expectations of him when he first appeared on the scene, but have had very little joy in his performances ever since he made 1st grade.

Last year I obviously gave him the benefit of doubt due to his shoulder problem and his inexperience and youth.

But this year he has no such excuse to fall back on. With the powerful performances that we have produced during games, he should be playing off the back of the likes of Junior, Edwards, Manu and Wicks and smashing through the line like grease through a goose.

But all we see is him hitting a brick wall and getting belted backwards.

well you are entitled to your opinion mate but I dont agree, I really think at 20 he is at the wrong end of his career to be judged

Agreed. And I think he is probably in the bottom couple of fullbacks in the comp like Burt would have been late in his career when he played fullback. If BA has confidence in another winger I would be moving Gutherson there ASAP

Gordon is strong and does not get man handled. FFS he has great positioning and great hand-Also is safe. Sure he wont bulldoze players like semi but he would have more oomph then Gutherson carting it up. Plus we need a goal kicker.
Anyhows he lives opposite my mate and just going off what ive been told. 1 yr extension but i have no links just word of mouth.

Well from our 2014 side i would say kaysa - Pauli - Tepai - Alioi(was he playing) are first graders. Matterson looks like one.
Guys like Tanginoa - Falou are just a shade off. We had a good side but it was not a great side. A top 4 side.

From what i have seen our current under 20's has some better talent mixed with some ordinary players. Our 2014 side had a lot of guys who where NSW cup quality.
I think Twal-Bevan-Dargan-Fuimanno are all better prospects then anyone from our 2014 team.

I thought he was pretty good after being out since the panthers game and only his 3rd game this year. You can see he's already too good for this grade but I'd be giving him a little bit more game time in the 20's before moving him up.

Surely we will give French a run in NSW Cup after a couple of weeks back in the Under 20s. He has only just come back from injury.
