The really harmful drugs like ice and heroin should of course be illegal.

But alcohol and tobacco do far more harm than ecstasy and pot, for example. And most of the harm from ecstasy comes from what it may have been cut with. Make it legal and control it and that's not an issue.

Pot makes people lazy, unreliable and not give a f**k attitude. Also causes paranoia and phscosis.
When smoking it daily the problems is the i dont care relaxed attitude makes other drugs that you probabbly wouldnt take seem like not such a big deal. Who cares attitude.

Yes, I would start with decriminalization first and then go from there. Will we Australia have the same positive outcome as say Portugal? Who knows, but what we and the rest of the world has at the moment only works for the gangs, mafia, banks and crooked politicians. Always has and always will.

Even if there was no improvement and decriminalizing drugs maintained the plight of the user and also numbers stayed the same, which I would doubt very much, it would still be a better out come by cutting off all the funding that these gangs, mafia, banks and crooked politicians are getting, which has given them unprecedented power over the years.

Like I said, illegal drugs only benefit the parasites and harm everybody else.

I think tobacco should be illegal. But you need to drink a LOT of alcohol to experience health effects. The vast majority of people manage their alcohol use without issue. The pros outweigh the cons.

No chance that would be the case if 'party drugs' were as cheap and easy to obtain as alcohol. We would end up with a society full of the mentally ill. Psychosis and associated crimes would be a massive social problem.

Agree . Alcohol for most is not an issue. And you can enjoy 1 or 2.
Its not like people would have a cone and not be bushwacked.

Yeh, and there's quite a difference between making a presently illegal drug legal (or decrimmed) and the decision to make that drug illegal in the first place. I believe that we should never have made heroin illegal in the 1950s....we created a market for crime. But that doesn't mean that we can undo that mistake.

Some author dude on Triple M this morning said Colombia actually has a very low rate of cocaine use because they hate what the drug trade has done to their country's perception.
I think we all know the answer to the drug problem

Do they? Is that why NSW and QLD decided lock out laws were necessary? Is it why the ACT hiked up fees and taxes on alcohol in clubs and pubs to make it too expensive to actually get drunk?

Obviously these plans have had varying degrees of success, but if you think Australia doesn't have a severe problem with alcohol you're living under a rock. And I say that as someone who sells the stuff...

99% of people i know would consume alchol during the year. I reckon 85% would rarely get past tipsy majority of the time.

Not sure if you can do thst with drugs. Is it possible to have a bag of coke and not do the lot till finished?

Certainly the Portuguese love a drink...5th highest consumption per capita in the EU, although like most EU countries it's dropping, but highest number of days per month where alcohol is consumed. Middle of the road for binge drinking

That being said, I don't think drug culture and alcohol culture are necessarily closely related. I would suggest that many Australian binge drinkers don't ever touch drugs, and vice versa. There will obviously be some (maybe quite a bit of) crossover but there will also be a lot of people who do one or the other.

Bullshit. Whenever ive sniffed it after 10mins all im doing is anxiously counting down time till i can have another.Then make a bigger fatter one. Till its all gone.
I wouldnt touch the shit again thou. These where my younger days.

Diff things effect diff people differently. But even drinking heavy daily would take 10+yrs to destroy you. I doubt coke would take that long
