We are talking spine players who played rep football (irrespective of positions)
Ok so by that regard we could sign Gagai, Oates, Feguson and B.Morris and put them in the 1,6,7 And 9 and be the best team in the comp.
Of course positions matter

All this talk of rep players and no-one has noticed the depth of rep players in our Round 11 squad.

In fact, of the 7 players from last week against the Raiders who played in the middle, only 1 isn't a current or former rep player and that is Moreoa who is tipped to be a rep player of the future.

T Mannah 2008 NSW
S Matagi 2013-2017 New Zealand & Tonga
N Brown 2016 NSW City
B Scott 2010 - 2014 NSW and Australia
D Alvaro 2017 NSW Country
S Vave 2013-2016 Tonga

We also had a rep player on one edge:
M Ma'u 2015-2016 New Zealand and Tonga

Our spine contained 2 rep players:
K Pritchard 2016 Samoa
C Gutherson 2016 - 2017 NSW City

In the outside backs we had a number of rep players:
M Jennings 2008-2016 Australia, NSW & Tonga
K Auva'a 2016 Samoa
J Hoffman 2012-2013 New Zealand
S Radradra 2016 Australia 2013 Fiji

So four non-rep players only in:
French
Moses
Moroea
Edwards

We should be shoe-ins for Premiers.

Agree , if have slater smith and cronk or 2 Austrlaian players in backrow, like stewart and watmough then you can get away with an average front row.
I agree you're better off spending your money on the spine and edge forwards. When we get Ma'u, Edwards, French, Norman and Moses playing some games together we can be brilliant, even with the pack already assembled for next year.

Add quality outside backs like Gutherson and Jennings and that brilliance of which you speak will translate into points.

What? Boyd has played almost his whole career at fullback for his club, similar to Hayne and Inglis. They are all genuine spine players. The guys you mentioned are usually wingers and Centre's at club football. They fill in in the spine occasionally . Except Oates. No idea why u put him in that category.

You'd think a team with only 4 players who hadn't played rep football would perform better then.

French, Moses and Moreoa have also been involved in the All Stars game or represented the Prime Ministers team if I recall.
Bloody Edwards. What a looser. Lol.

Norman - Moses can be one of the better half combinations.

Where do you rate Bevan and Kaysa in their positions? I reckon Kaysa is not that far away from the average hookers in the comp while Bevan currently would sit at bottom 2-3 at fullback

Out of the 16 teams I have 8-9 with a better/more seasoned 1 and/or 9 than we do. Our boys haven't had their chance to be rated equally with only half a season. I'd suggest that both have potential to rate towards the top third of players in their position in a year or two time.
