...and I'm sure the realisation that Foran was a grade-a f**kwit also helped shift him on (obviously the TPA thing was a major factor but it's a bit simplistic not to mention this fact).
If Foran was such a f**kwit we wouldn't have signed him in the first place. Hasler wouldn't have signed him to the Dogs and he wouldn't be playing for Kearney this year - all three coaches knew him beforehand.

His ability is why we signed him and he just turned out to be a f**kwit.

Jamal Fogarty returns from Parramatta Eels to guide Burleigh Bears to Queensland Cup win
Connor O’Brien, Gold Coast Bulletin
June 12, 2017 12:00am

JAMAL Fogarty is back – and he wasted no time in making his presence felt.

The classy halfback steered Burleigh to a Queensland Cup premiership last season and was rewarded for his exceptional form by landing a two-year NRL deal with Parramatta.

But with his path to first grade becoming blocked by Mitchell Moses’ mid-season arrival at the Eels, Fogarty was last week released from his contract to rejoin the Bears until the end of 2018 effective immediately.

His first game back in maroon was celebrated with a comfortable 28-18 win over Central Queensland at Pizzey Park on Saturday.

Fogarty only arrived back on the Gold Coast on Friday but trained that same night and was rushed into the side to play the Capras after injury-plagued half Harry Siejka was a late withdrawal.

The 23-year-old kicked four goals and quickly reasserted himself as the man barking orders to get the Bears around the paddock.

Bears boss Damian Driscoll said it was the best the defending premiers have looked this season.

“It was a different team straightaway … he took off from where he left last year,” Driscoll said of Fogarty’s inclusion.

Burleigh had sealed the result by the 60th minute when centre Connor Broadhurst crossed for the hosts’ fifth try of the afternoon to open the margin to 28-6.

Winger Troy Leo and five-eighth Dallas Wells each scored twice while Titans prop Paterika Vaivai put in a 61-minute performance to stake his claim for an NRL recall.

It was a different story at Kougari Oval, where Gold Coast enforcer Agnatius Paasi aggravated his shoulder problem as Tweed Heads were belted 46-8 by Wynnum-Manly.

Paasi had only got through 27 minutes off the bench before being forced from the field, having hurt the right shoulder which he had reconstructed in the off-season.

It has been a stop-start season for Paasi, who had also fractured his shoulder blade in March, but the Titans confirmed late yesterday the latest complaint was not of a serious nature.

Seagulls coach Aaron Zimmerle said his side ran into a red-hot Wynnum-Manly outfit who had dropped senior players such as former Bronco John Te Reo.

Tweed emerged from the match with further injury concerns including Dane Clarke (concussion) and Sam Saville (sternum), while David Sheridan (hamstring) was ruled out pre-game.

On a positive note, John Olive was among their best in marking opposite centre and Brisbane veteran David Mead.

So maybe we are still looking at Peats:

Peats faces price drop

Blues hooker Nathan Peats is in demand from both his current club the Titans and his former club the Eels - but his future is in limbo.

Gold Coast hooker Nathan Peats might have to drop his asking price to land a contract for next season. (AAP)

Peats’ asking price of around $600,000 is too high for both clubs and at this stage, neither is budging.

There are no other clubs in the race so Peats may have to lower his price tag to land himself a deal for 2018.

Fancy a player having to settle for no more than a club will offer. Some geniuses around here think players can just set their price and clubs are forced to pay it.

The market decides.

Well if we have the budget then great. I just got the impression max would be pretty tight with the $$. If we are competing with rooster and other clubs $$ in our junior reps then it's all good

Max will probably cut unnecessary spending. Putting money into producing the best juniors is not unnecessary.

Getting the best/right juniors is more than just about how much they're being paid.

Agree... Max will give Bernie a budget that Bernie can support as being necessary for development and improvement of the football program. I don't see Bernie asking for less for Juniors if that is where BA and co think they can get the best long-term value.

No.... Inu and Mateo bog average careers.

Hindmarsh x 2 , Ryan,Vella,Cayless,Lyons,Vaeleki,Tonga,Burt, Grothe jnr,P.Richards came onto scene within a few years of each other.
Both Inu and Mateo could have been great but seemed to lose interest when they went to Warriors. Inu, in particular, could be absolutely brilliant in the Hayne mould when he put his mind to it.
