What are the chances of degois coming good?
I heard Brent Read talk about him on the radio he said that he would need two independent neurosurgeons to clear him before the NRL would look at him. Sterlo said that he is not likely this season to return. He may have to retire.

And I'll read a bit too much into this and say we are holding out hope of signing a hooker who is available next year but not this year.

100%. Merkins like Morts would have signed but would want a 1.5 or 2.5 year deal.
I've said this many times in the past couple of seasons. Mid year signings, whilst obviously designed to get you out of a pickle in the short term most of the time, can end up being a bit of a millstone around your neck in subsequent seasons when it becomes clear that long term you didn't really need to lock those players in for more than the half season you really needed them for....

Yeah I'm not spewing that we let him go or anything, as I said he's not ready for FG and he will take a bit of work as many people don't really put on a lot of weight at that age, and he's clearly one of those types.

Of course, the flipside potentially is that a few athletes like that do suddenly bulk up in their early 20s as though someone flipped a switch. Might be that the Tiges have gambled on that.
Twal has the height but not the frame to put on a lot of weight, he has a tall and thin build. He's already fairly well muscled.

It's not exactly a glowing endorsement of King from BA though is it. 'he's been hanging around for ages, I might chuck him in. Maybe. At some stage'

You obviously don't know BA well, that's exactly how he talks, would say that about Corey Norman if he was coming back from injury. Think understatement is his go.

It did read a bit that way

Arthur tends to back his players publically though. No sign of confidence in King if he says 'we are screwed and are in the market because nobody here is much chop'.
Also if we are in the market another club might demand we pay full freight

if it's true than it tells me that our cap situation isn't as rosey as what some people would have you believe, hes a cheap stock standard middle forward at best.

Korobete - was never an option and the club was never interested.

Semi - is a long way from being retained, still a lot to happen there.

Why? With guys like O'Brien and Terepo off contract we might need a cheap, stock standard middle forward to replace them. O'Brien is a plodder and Terepo could get top 17 money at a worse club.

Anyway who knows, if the other site says we've signed Brenton Lawrence it's probably because someone saw BA watching a Martin Lawrence movie and thought it meant something

Of course I don't know BA very well. As long as he is telling the player what he needs to hear behind closed doors I'm fine with understatement in public.
