Back on props, I think we could have had a crack at Liam Knight. Well, I don't know that we didn't, but he fits the bill in a lot of ways....he's 22, he's 191cm and just shy of 110kg....could have been a roughie.

Oh well
First we don't even talk to Vaughan and now we don't even talk to Knight...

Who?

I've got my misgivings about Evans, and Meehan is a project, but at least we know what we need and are addressing it. Too many posters sit there and go "we need to add props" and refuse to say who.

So, who? As I said, I'd love NAS or Paasi, but they will be very tough to pry away from their clubs.
FuiFui was a project too ... but he probably turned into one of our best forwards in recent memory

Who is there?

I'd take NAS or Paasi, but realistically it'll be tough to prise them away. We add Evans and Meehan next year, two monsters....
I would open the check book for Paasi, the guy is a talent and different to what we have. If the Titans keep Peats i think there is a chance to pinch him.

I still can't believe we didn't speak to Vaughan FFS!!

You merkins have really pi$$ ed in my cornflakes re: Charlie Gubb. I thought earlier this year when I had heard he was going to NQ that I wished we had spoken to him.

If we are favourites to sign him i am pretty happy, he would be a top bench prop for our style, he makes metres with the ball, is aggressive in D, I don't ever remember him being a liability.

Can anyone back up the pizzling with data in this and the succession thread?

Terepo, Alvaro, Evans, Meehan, Gubb, Brown, Matagi, Vave, Mannah etc is a tidy middle rotation with a bit of luck with injuries and no one has broke the bank. Particularly if the first 6 play the majority of the season

Well we may not get those better players, as you say it's not necessarily that easy to do. This will just mean that we will continue to be a middle of the road side.

My comments are about what is going to make us a Premiership contender down the track. It's up to the people on the big bucks to make it happen.

We obviously prioritised Meehan ahead of him.

Outside of Brown, the rest would be considered the 4th to 6th best middle forwards in a Top 17 at a Premiership contending team. Our issue isn't finding middle forwards who would be considered 4th to 6th, as we probably have 8 of them already. Our issue is finding those couple of middle forwards that would be considered Top 3 in a Top 17 at a Premiership contender.

Moeroa is a middle forward too (Gower was preferred at edge forward last night). Moeroa is already a solid first grader, and gets better every week. He is two years younger than Brown, whom this time last year plenty of merkins thought was a reserve grader.

Pen hasn't been put to paper as yet but Semi will be back before June 30 next year...
Top 14 final is mid June so provided Semi does not exercise his option then you may be right. He certainly has a lot of love for us and his manager has already said that he would not have signed the French contract if not for the DV charge.

Does he understand that if he turns up 50% through a comp that he only gets paid 50% of his contract value ?

Moeroa has plenty of upside moving forward.

If The Chairman is missing next week I wonder if Niukore comes straight in to the starting backrow... Tep might start there but Edwards cannot start there again
