Good luck to him. He's better than some of the plonkers they've used in the backs this year but wasn't looking like cracking it with us again in the foreseeable future.

He's a bit like Etu Uaisele back in the day. Probably too good for reserves, probably not quite good enough for regular NRL

I hope you're right Chief that you made the story up about Gubb. Honestly a pure plodder, sure better than Mannah atm, but on par with Alvaro. We certainly don't need any more of these bog standard players in our team. Here are his stats for the season so far, compared with Alvaro's.

G A
HU 5.8 8.9
AR 5.9 10.1
ARM 49 87
LB 0.1 0
LBA 0.1 0
TA 0.1 0
OL 0.2 0.1
TK 15.9 25.7
MT 1.5 1.5
ERR 0.1 0.1
Gubb plays about 25 mins a match compared with 30 for Alvaro. As you can see from the stats neither player is anything much to talk about.

Has anybody heard anymore about Meehan and whether NRL allowed his rego? Would be handy to have and possibility could play NRL this year. A big body in the finals would be helpful, especially as Mannah playing busted. He must have some ability as debuted for Roosters as 18-19 yo as only good players make their debut at that age and even then usually only a back and not a forward.

Davis is better than Faraimo IMO...he's got size and strength even if he's not the quickest. Might point to him being retained, but then again it might just mean we're looking to promote guys like GL in the squad.

I think a Market Watch article a while back suggested that the club held an option for Davis in 2018. It is also worth considering that we have a nicely functioning backline (give or take Takairangi) with Josh Hoffman and Kirisome Auva'a still to come back. Our depth will be excellent there soon.

Top 14 final is mid June so provided Semi does not exercise his option then you may be right. He certainly has a lot of love for us and his manager has already said that he would not have signed the French contract if not for the DV charge.

Does he understand that if he turns up 50% through a comp that he only gets paid 50% of his contract value ?

But if he is hopefully to come back next yr, being a rugby union player doesn't matter what time he comes back does it?

Auva'a is off contract, but agreed we seem to have enough outside backs for this year and next.

Good point!

Greenburg would no doubt shift the goalposts to make it different for us and sit him out for the remainder of the season...
