And the rumours are still massive that Semi will come back to us after he finishes his season in french rugby.

Apparently he never wanted to sign with them but the court case forced his hand (while those charges turned out to be all rubbish)

I don't quite understand how the court case forced him to sign with French rugby.

You'd obviously try to sign Earl for minimum wage plus decent match payments. Quite efficient cap-wise as he played no games this year.

He was a decent enough winger, and he's certainly better than Scott Schulte.

Yeh, I suspect his manager knows how much more a cut he (the manager) gets when one of his players signs for a team in a much less regulated market.

I'd have Earl at Parra. He'll only attract small money and wouldn't be "replacing" Semi without earning it.

He was fast and strong and great at getting over the line, pretty much standard in every other way though. Basically he was a genuine NRL level winger with some flair.

Especially if we do manage to entice Semi to come back he'd be a good placeholder if he earned a first grade spot. And a guy like that is going to be chewing his face off for a chance. I see no downside given he will certainly be cheap

I would think our existing wingers should be good enough to replace Semi until, hopefully, he comes back. I mean why buy wingers from other clubs, Gennings, Tuha and Leso only to leave them in the lower grades. NRL should do everything to entice him back as he puts bums on seats and clickbait to watch his trys which are always spectacular.

A player who was basically an ordinary winger and who hasn't played for 4 years is not an exciting prospect. Prefer we strengthen our forwards further.

Frizzell is a gun, but I reckon Brown is more valuable because of his work-rate and skills.

Not to mention his huge motor.

True. His metres per carry are below elite level, and his tackles per minute are barely NRL standard.
