If you think a club like ours - without TPAs - is ever going to buy a premiership you're off your head. We need to build to it, and then hope for some luck here and there.

If you don't like following an underdog you need to pick another team.

Underdog??? Powerhouse, you negetive loser!!!

Do you reckon he's the biggest? I would've thought Vave and Alvaro are bigger.

Yeah Vave is bigger but is weak in defence. Was meaning we lost our biggest forward Moeroa who is strong in both attack / defence.

As elementary has posted Alvaro is similar in size to Moeroa. So no wonder we struggled a bit against the cowboys losing our two "bigger" forwards (among other factors).

Add Evans / Moeroa / Alvaro to the pack that played against the cowboys and there is definitely room for improvement in 2018.

Oh I'm sorry, I thought they tore us a new one and they both ended up playing out the GF. And the Cowboys did it with a busted team. Next year the will probably be the team to beat, with the inclusion of Thurston, Scott and Mclean.

But hey, living in a revisionist wold of history, is sweet I guess.

We fefinitely need Paulo or a Paulo typy of player if we want to go to the next level.

So who do you think went the closest to beating Melbourne in the finals, Rammy? Surely a bunch like our, missing our #1 and #2 choices for fullback, and losing that plodder of a 2nd rower wouldn't have a chance against them?

Not to mention a 50/50 call on a touch vs a forward pass proved to be the more than the difference.

( That's not to suggest that refereeing cost us the game, however all else being equal, that call goes our way and we likely win )

What about if we made everything bigger?

I mean, if we accept that bigger forwards magically win competitions, why not have bigger forwards AND bigger backs? You'd be guaranteed to win! Have a 120kg fullback and 150kg props, boom, premiership!
I'm here trying to generate discussion about why we didn't win anything and all you guys do is criticise and death ride me with stupid and inane comments such as above. Instead of saying stupid comments you'd be better putting in some positive discussion and not being content about the current situation. I see the forwards being the problem and not the backs. I'm not alone in wanting bigger forwards, every coach is including Bennett, Cleary and ALSO BA to name a few so I cannot be that wrong.
And how was our track record against teams with the bigger packs. Not that flash, beat Moanly right at beginning of year, Penrith and St Geo twice which was our highlights. Couldn't even beat Raiders who, if my memory is correct, didn't beat any other top 8 side. Until we can consistently beat these teams that generally make the finals we'll never be the force we should and could be.

Better go forward would help obviously, but I reckon what brought us down in the finals was lack of experience in big games, especially from our halves.

You'll note we went a lot better than Junior Paulo's team.
Not when we played them we didn't!
I'm only concerned about my team doing better.

I wasn't talking to you.

What do you reckon but? I reckon Junior Paulo would make a great fat halfback. Some of those balls he chucked into the Meninga stand had promise

Also raises the point that Paulo's best games come when he can get out wide and run at halfbacks.

You might be happy with almost, but I'm not. At this stage we go into next season minus our most lethal attacking weapon in Radradra and we have picked up a handy prop and we had an up and down season, but overall ok. Now have we improved our roster thus far on this season past?

Hmmm...

We had a soft draw. We played Storm minus origin players. Sharks once, roosters once. Cowboys beat us 2/3 times. We chalked d up one win when they missed quite a few players including jt....
We also played Panthers and Manly once. Brisbane are the only top 8 side we played twice at close too fulll strength.

Storm minus origin players.
Peno,manly,sharks,roosters x 1
Cowboys belted us with JT.

Lets forget about the softness of our draw Ram. And lets call people like you and me who are realistic negative coks..... The squad needs improving. We wont get as an easy draw. The weakest teams like dogs, knights and cowboys are a lot stronger.
But hey we made top 4. Who cares about losing semi right?

Unless we sign a few guys who are walk ins too our top 17 we wont make the top 8.

Underdog??? Powerhouse, you negetive loser!!!

Parramatta is the 2nd biggest city in Sydney. With the new stadium, best juniors and a huge growing part of Sydney there is no reason why we cant be the powerhouse.
As a brand the Eels are far more powerfull then the Roosters ffs.

Ive said this multiple times Parramatta and Penrith are important for rugby league. Heart and soul of rugby league. It is too early too say but I feel both clubs have turned the corner. Both should be the Brisbanes of Sydney.

We played the Raiders early in the year when we only had one halfback. As I said at the start of the year, our kicking game was our biggest issue. Moses fixed that, and then we went in on to smash a few big packs including Souths, Melbourne and the Bulldogs twice.

We beat dogs by 1 point in xtra time in one of those games.

How many games this season with 20 to go where we in complete control?

Our packs isnt terrible. Id say our backrow is as good as most.
But upfront its average.

Alvaro
Mannah
Matagi
Vave
Terepo
Evans

Tell me off that list who would make origin if eligble? I am not arguing if they are NRL players.....
Dogs will have Woods and Klemmer. Nsw best props
Panthers- Tamou & Rcg
Saints - Vaughn & Graheme
Roosters - Napa, Jwh
Canbera- Boyd , Jnr
Sharks - Fafita-Pryor
Manly - Tapua

The list goes on... The fact is most teams have 1 or 2 props who would atleast get a mention for origin or put a case for it ( If eligble ) or hit form
None of ours would be mentioned or considered....

And the fact that our props are so cheap allows us to have a world-class back-row, and sign blokes like Evans.

You forget that we struggle to attract TPA's, and so our under-rated props allow us to strengthen the rest of our squad.

World class backrow?

Manu,Tepai,Ke,Brown are good. Hardly world class. There is no sam Burgess, Cordner or SBW in that list. The backrow can match any teams. It is not some awesome dynamic backrow.
