And yes cowboys just steam rolled us through guts hust as Ram suggested.
Just bigger, tougher and stronger. We may of had more flash but we went to war in the desert like most nrl games are fought. Amd we where put too sleep.

Tbh if wasnt for 3 lucky tries we where handed it could of been embarrasing.

Once we sign 2 decent props everyone on here will be saying how shit some of the guys in starting 17 where.....
And we will sign a few. I reckon BA knows we need it. Why he took punt on Rory,Meehan and Evans. Not to mention Frank and Vave. He is desperate to add some mongrel to our pack.

Our packs isnt terrible. Id say our backrow is as good as most.
But upfront its average.

Alvaro
Mannah
Matagi
Vave
Terepo
Evans

Tell me off that list who would make origin if eligble? I am not arguing if they are NRL players.....
Dogs will have Woods and Klemmer. Nsw best props
Panthers- Tamou & Rcg
Saints - Vaughn & Graheme
Roosters - Napa, Jwh
Canbera- Boyd , Jnr
Sharks - Fafita-Pryor
Manly - Tapua

The list goes on... The fact is most teams have 1 or 2 props who would atleast get a mention for origin or put a case for it ( If eligble ) or hit form
None of ours would be mentioned or considered....

And how f**ken helpful were those props to those sides? Only the Roosters got a top 4 spot!' None made the GF!!

And our props managed to beat the dogs, panthers, Manly's and dogs even with their better props. While we were pretty competitive against the raiders / sharks even without Moses!!

World class backrow?

Manu,Tepai,Ke,Brown are good. Hardly world class. There is no sam Burgess, Cordner or SBW in that list. The backrow can match any teams. It is not some awesome dynamic backrow.

Ma'u is an international.

Brown is a whisker away from playing Origin, and that's something you were whinging about earlier (that none of our forwards are on the cusp of Origin).

Edwards is one of the best benches going around.

Tepai is young, and will play senior rep football.

Our edge forwards are as good as anyone else's - and better, in most cases.

And how can you say it isn't a dynamic back-row, when the positions we have are dominated by players who can play either side of the field, and are agile, mobile, and quick?

This forward pack as a unit has weaknesses, but they were good enough to create time and space for the halves to propel us into the top 4.

Don't forget we played half the season with only one established half - in 2018, Moses and Norman will have had a full off-season together, and should be able to continue where they left off.

Sure, we could sign SBW or Sam Burgess - but our lack of TPA's means we would pay through the teeth, a d it would count on our cap, and that is not smart cap management.

For someone who is always harping on about how smart they are, you don't seem to be able to address this crucial point.

Smart cap management for this club dictates bargain buys, and hard-working forwards, together with developing the types of players we require in-house.

But but but none of them are Jesse Bromwich level!

Arthur is no idiot - he knows what we need.

But he also knows we need to be smart about how we go about it - we're not in a position to compete against the Roosters, Dogs, Broncos, etc. for TPA's, so finding a smart buy is crucial.

Manu was just average this season.

Id say our front row was helped by the power of Taka, Auvau and Semi.....
They helped cover the lack of punch.

Why do you feel BA went for Terepo With no match fitness? He knows atleast he can run with punch and defend at a high level.

If Alvaro and Mannah sre pur starting props for most the season we will finish bottom 8. Im confident of that.
But I reckon that wont be our starting front row.

Lets not worry about other teams. To win title we have to get better right? At moment our squads weaker. Lets hope we sign a few more props and a decent hooker.

It will certainly be easier without other teams. You have to worry about other teams, because us and the other teams are competing for the same fixed (in the short run) pool of talent.

Of course we can benefit from some better front rowers (preferably bigger too). But people want to pick one game (e.g. against the Cows) as evidence against our pack, but then want to discount performance in another game at a similar level (e.g. against the Storm).

Until we can consistently beat these teams that generally make the finals we'll never be the force we should and could be.

That comment is probably why some don't take you serious! We finished 4th with 16 wins, you don't do that if you are not consistent.

I don't think many were happy with this years finish, we all want to win the comp, but some understand you can't simply go from basket case / wooden spooners to premiers in a fairly short timeframe.

BA has had to basically rebuild our squad, depth and junior systems all with a pretty f**ked club board and cap!! Yet each year we have improved under him. We have been a semi final quality squad for two years now!!

Now answer this, have you listened to the TCT interviews with our coaches and Gurr?

If you have you will know that BA has a plan on how he is going to build the side in regards to recruiting and junior pathways. You would also know BA is trying recruit "bigger" forwards into our squad as we have to many "nugget" type players.

Yeah it is frustrating but it takes time, if you look at previous premiers it took several years of finals appearances and some luck to with the Comp.

While I don't know when we will win the Comp, I do know we are getting closer then we were especially with BA in charge!! The guy knows what he is doing and has been a success at every club he has been at!'

FFS!! Soft draw my arse!! You can only beat who you play!!

The draw wasn't that easy and we can't help that the raiders f**ked up!! They were top 2 last year and we had to play them twice in the first 11 rounds.

Additionally we played the titans twice who were also finalist the previously year!!

Oh yeah we also didn't have a real home advantage either this year like your f**ken panthers did every second week!!

We beat dogs by 1 point in xtra time in one of those games.

How many games this season with 20 to go where we in complete control?
Like Brad Arthur said, we're not a team that can go out there and blow the opposition away. We win by everybody in the 17 working hard and playing their best.

Of course we could have better players at nearly every position but there is a salary cap. What we need is to get maximum value for our money, not just go out and buy the best players. We weren't strong this year because we had Semi Radradra as much as we were strong because we had Semi Radradra on unders. It let us spend more on the rest of the squad.

FFS it was one game merkin. How well did their pack go against the Storm? Our blokes were heaps better, in both games we played.

He had one poor season - Burgess, SBW, Cordner - they've all had bad seasons. It happens, mate.
