Instead of trying to break contract and pissing off to Yawnion maybe he should be trying to find a manager good enough to get him all the TPA's he wants and needs???

As Stagger has said how hard would it be for someone of his popularity and stature in the game???

I mean even a deadset log like Daniel Harrsion was somehow getting 30k a year.
Given the "small" amount of people who he had "confided" in, I suspect this is his manager "doing" his job to get more money. It's a call to arms for TPAs

Well with Semi it has been suggested that Fiji Air contacted the club about Semi. The club passed on the TPA interest to his manager and he did nothing.

Fiji Air then contacted Hayne.

100% correct....how the f**k does a manager f**k that up? .....oh that's right he had to dial the number and actually chat to Fiji Air..

Too hard or too interested in stitching up a bigger deal in France maybe?

seriously, how difficult could that job be? ..I reckon I could stand on the corner of Victoria road and ANZAC bridge for an hour with a sign in my hand requesting TPAs for Semi and I'd pick up 100K..his manager is kidding himself..

I reckon you might get yourself a few blokes phone numbers as well.

I said over a week ago that Semi needs to be looking for a new manager.
His current one seems little lazy and just expects things to drop in his lap, infact he did get a TPA dropped in his lap and was too lazy to do anything with it.
Semi you need a new manager mate not a trip to France.

Shame his manager hasn't been looking for TPA's the last 3 seasons. His client wouldn't have to break a contract and piss off the entire RL fanbase.

He can't change managers until his contract ends

So if he breaks the contract head to rugby, he can get a new manager

Colonel might have a point. Why would the manager bother following up a TPA with the Eels if his client is hell bent on breaking his contract and eloping to France ? Maybe Semi not going with Fiji Air is more about Semi than his manager's incompetence ?

And once again, a (salary cap restricted) contract with the Eels plus a Fiji Airways TPA (or equivalent) is still much less than a French rugby contract plus the same Fiji Airways TPA (or equivalent).

Genuine arms length TPAs aren't going to make him any happier with his Eels contract.

The NRL can (should?) de-register his manager.

I realize there is a can of worms there, but it at least ought to be considered as an option. Would stop the money hungry grubs pushing their clients to a quick payday, and start having them convince the players to at least see out their NRL contract before fleeing.

Why? Are you talking about his NRL contract, or his contract with his manager?

The contract he has with his manager will determine the circumstances in which he can terminate the agreement. I can't imagine that it would require him to stick with the manager until his current deal expires. He may have to pay any remaining commission in advance.

He can break the contract provided that any deals done by the current manager he has to pay the commission til the contract ends.
Other players have done it before.

If Semi does break his contract and got to France Semi won't be the only one banned I'm 100% sure his manager will be de-registered and I'm sure he was told this last week in the meeting they had.

Here's an interesting question, What if Semi buggers off to France against his Managers advice? i.e. his manager tells him not to do it, punishments, bla bla but Semi goes anyway?

Does that still lead to the Manager being punished? It's not like he can tie Semi up and drag him back to Australia...

I just want to know, one way or the other. I'm so sick of the will he won't he that's going on. If he wants to leave us during our hardest time, fine, but S**t or get off the pot, right?

Well his main TPA pipeline just got closed :sarcasm:

Well there is nothing stopping his a manger sourcing TPA's on his behalf, maybe he just wants to leave and play Yawnion for some strange reason??? And Pou is right all the TPA's won't mean much if he wants to go. Poor bastard would get a cold in that bore fest.

I wouldn't be blaming managers, suspected failed TPA's or another Y gen Prima Donna not being able to handle outside pressures. Plenty of people still come to work after having loved ones sick, going through divorces and so on. Yet It is alleged that Semi just wants to go to French Rugby and all will be sweet. I suspect he even wanted to represent Australia in League in order to cash in. If he isn't back by Wednesday he should be fined heavily. I'm sick of this shit. If he doesn't want to play we move on and sanction him until the expiry of his contract. The club has been more than patient and accommodating. We need committed, tough players and not anyone who thinks he is bigger than the club. I include everyone in this. Foran, Hayne. I don't care who it is. f**king over it!!

Maybe the NRL should allow players to compete in select, legitimate competitions that do not really compete with rugby league, such as Japanese rugby union. It would help us keep the stars in the game.

These players are not wanting to play Union in the off season for the experience, it's for the money.

The NRL would be better off finding suitable ways to increase the cap, relax TPA rules etc to entice players to want to stay or so the thought of offseason game time isn't an issue.

How would you feel if your best player/s did their ACL playing competitive rugby at the end of an off season? How does that benefit anyone?
