These players are not wanting to play Union in the off season for the experience, it's for the money.
The NRL would be better off finding suitable ways to increase the cap, relax TPA rules etc to entice players to want to stay or so the thought of offseason game time isn't an issue.
How would you feel if your best player/s did their ACL playing competitive rugby at the end of an off season? How does that benefit anyone?
Mate their shouldn't be a cap. Just a draft. That way only the best survive. This pandering to the nostalgic Sydney market must end. There have always been too many clubs in Sydney. Either merge, relocate and find other markets or play in a second tier comp. We are in a billion dollar market and are still hampered by nostalgia that does not work in today's market.
