Evans had been around for longer though, and had bigger wraps when he re-signed.Apparently Takauako and Liu are both on less than $250k at the Roosters, so I doubt Evans was on $250k

Clubs willing to sign him. He was the next big thing a couple of years ago.Bigger wraps by whom?
Tell us why his height will be massive? He is not a noted offloader of the ball, such as $BW, who used his height to pass over the top of shorter players. The most powerful forwards, the ones that carry 2 or 3 players another 10 meters after contact, are the squat players like Matt Scott. So again why is height such an important consideration?I am stoked with the signing. Not only are his stats decent he also adds a different body type to our forward pack. Our tallest forwards, and 2/3 of our best middle forwards, are Tep and Alvaro at 190cm, Evans is billed at 199cm. His height will be massive for us

A lot of the training gear in the sheds at the Old Saleyards is kept on shelves that are 9 feet high or more. Kane will come in handy getting shit down from there and negate the need for step ladders... It's a cost reduction exercise more than anything....Tell us why his height will be massive? Unless we sign some new props no one knows about how will Evans be playing in Wenty???20-25 minutes is exactly right.
Evans is nothing but a stop gap player, giving Napa & JWH their required rest 10 minutes each side of halftime, meaning he plays a fresh 10 minute spell each time.
After 10-12 minutes he is absolutely fekked and must be subtituted. It's easy to have a great defensive rate when you're only needed for 12 minutes.
Don't get your unicorn juices too excited, because Evans will be in the black and white of Wentworthvile before you can say magpies.
I'm not too sure if BA can pull off a miracle here.
3/10 player imo - his running style gives the impression like there's 10 kg dumbells strapped to his boots.
Takauako over Evans any day.
A project player that will be on 350-400k next season???Evans is a project player. He could end up like Vaughn or may fluff right out.
At worse he is a first grader with some size. Untill I see him fire there is no reason to get excited.
Plenty raved on about Vave when signed him.
He is low in the ladder of props.
Maybe not starting but a top 17 certainty. Whether or not he starts is no reflection on his quality.A project player that will be on 350-400k next season???
He was signed as a starting prop and I have no doubt that’s where he will be playing next season.

I had fairly high expectations for Brown ... more than Evans ... but i agree with those saying he could be something good. He certainly showed glimpses in the past. .... at the very least he is a solid first grader and gives us a merkin with a bit of height which we have lacked for agesBrown is only a year younger then Evans and while he had potential and some good moments before joining us, I doubt many expected the form he showed this year.
Evan was specifically targeted by BA, he isn't going to be a "project player", he is coming to be a top 17 player!! BA knows what he is doing!!
Has Max's name all over this cost cutting exerciseA lot of the training gear in the sheds at the Old Saleyards is kept on shelves that are 9 feet high or more. Or more a reflection of our lack of quality in the props department.Maybe not starting but a top 17 certainty. Whether or not he starts is no reflection on his quality.

The point is that Arthur obviously doesn't want us to be weaker when the bench comes on so he doesn't just take the simplistic route of starting the best players and putting shitmerkins on the bench.Or more a reflection of our lack of quality in the props department.
We have good depth but not many who would get a starting spot at most of the top 8 clubs.
