I disagree Kelepi was a beast, I saw him once without a shirt on and he looked like a professional body builder. He has a very thick body as where Fui looked big and bulky. He isn't as muscular as Kelepi. When Kelepi was.with us before Cowboys his running style was very similar to Fui. Hard and fast. Does anyone know what happened with him? Was it injuries, mindset etc? I remember thinking he could become a rep player.
He was a beast running at NYC players and at halfbacks when he got to first grade. He had good footwork too but ultimately lacked the size or workrate (middle forwards need one or the other) for the NRL.

As for his physique, the most important strength for rugby league comes from a player's core - hips, abs and back. These aren't body parts that lend themselves well to a beach rig. Look at some of the strongest players in the game and their 'fat' guts and child-bearing hips. With his narrow shoulders, Gorden Tallis was pear shaped FFS.

Kelepi was about 100kg. His biceps made up about 50kg. Just not the right build for rugby league

The bloke was a gym junkie who played a bit of footy.

I saw Tanginoa a few times for wenty. And he did stand out. His hits and running was brutal. But he played out wide in these games and lapsed in defense.

Source? I'll happily admit if I'm wrong but I've read all the articles and no quote from Arthur has said that. It has just been journos assuming

both sources have been posted here, try the JH thread

This is the only source I could find quoting BA and it certainly doesn't lock Hayne into the centres:

“He just has to come back and be the best version of him,” Arthur said. “If he does that he makes us a better team. He is happy to play where is best for the team. I have made no promises or guarantees.

“He just wants to play for Parramatta. He knows we have two good young kids there (at fullback) in Bevan (French) and Gutho (Clint Gutherson).

“Jarryd is going to play anywhere in the backline. I have no reservations whatsoever.”
