Rumours and Stuff

Mannah would make every other top 17 in the NRL. This doesn’t make him elite though. There are at least five middle forwards in the top 17.

Anyway Mannah’s tackles per minute are at the elite level, and his metres per carry are above average for a middle forward. Otherwise he’s average.

His tattoos per limb are below average.

And then we may not have had the money to retain other player and sign Moses.
Not every player needs to be a superstar. Mannah is a decent first grader. Just about every club who has won a Premiership has had those in their team.
Yeah except Mannah is not a decent first grader.

How do you know he has ‘NEVER’ received offers? Even if you’re right, we would have got him for a steal then.

Furthermore, we were a top 4 side last year. I’d say we exceeded all expectations. We certainly didn’t underperform.
Again I obviously meant over many seasons:rolling_eyes::rolling_eyes:

Hmm seems there may be something to this or The Lurker reads these forums.

Former NSW and Australian centre Michael Jennings continues to be linked with Newcastle.

Jennings plays right centre – the same position as new Eels recruit Jarryd Hayne.

I keep hearing coach Brad Arthur won’t play Hayne at fullback next season.

Parramatta has denied the club is under any salary cap pressure and can comfortably retain Jennings.

But there are rumblings out of Newcastle that Jennings is a target.

Jennings would also have played with Knights recruits Mitch Pearce, Connor Watson, Shaun Kenny-Dowall and Aidan Guerra when at the Sydney Roosters.

Knights coach Nathan Brown may be on the verge of capturing his second big signing of the off-season.

It sounds like because Hayne is coming his place in the team is in jeopardy? Surely Hayne would be replacing Taka not Jennings?

You also said we kept re-signing him for far too long after one or two good seasons....he won the world cup (as captain) in 2008. He retired in 2010....
I still stand by he wasn't a good player. Chris heighinton just almost won a World Cup. I just don't get the love for him. Sure we are parra fans but we have to be realists. Parra has always had a problem with getting good front rowers. We have produced plenty of excellent back rowers and backs but not good halves or front rowers. Except for sir Fui Fui of course. One player who I thought would be like jason taumalolo was Kelepi. He ran like Fui and did plenty of damage. I don't know why he went to crap. When he came back from Cowboys. I thought he would fire again but nothing happened.

Tanginoa was a fair bit smaller than Moimoi, and probably slower as well.

I disagree Kelepi was a beast, I saw him once without a shirt on and he looked like a professional body builder. He has a very thick body as where Fui looked big and bulky. He isn't as muscular as Kelepi. When Kelepi was.with us before Cowboys his running style was very similar to Fui. Hard and fast. Does anyone know what happened with him? Was it injuries, mindset etc? I remember thinking he could become a rep player.

Kelepi was about 4 foot 3....far too small for first grade and he spent way too much time in the gym training the wrong muscles.

See this is what I don't get. It's the Nathan Cayless effect, Player was good for a season or 2. Player is a good bloke and captain. Would not make any other NRL squads. Player stays at parra for way to long and NEVER recieves offers from other clubs. Fans still defend player even though he's captain and team are underperforming.
Did we just under perform in 2017?

he was quoted as saying that

he was also quoted as saying he will play in the back line when asked in another article

Source? I'll happily admit if I'm wrong but I've read all the articles and no quote from Arthur has said that. It has just been journos assuming
