Lets say we did sign Semi. His cost would of been imo 600k min.
Auvau perhaps costs 150k? That leaves 450k in the Kitty.

So you can have Hayne + Auvau for 650k or Semi and say N.Davis for 680k in your side.

I was just walking down Cleveland St and noticed that the police had stopped a car with 2 priests in the back. 'We'really looking for a couple of child molesters' the cops explained. The 2 priests looked at each other and replied. ..."We'll give it a go!"

The average salary in the 30 man squad is just over $300k. Do you reckon Auva'a would be on half of that?

He signed a 2 year contract initially, coming into a suspension for off-field indiscretions, coming into a squad who already had established centres and basically starting wingers so he'd be on back-up money. I'd say he'd be lucky to be on $150k for this year.

Yes. 180k Max. I reckon he woukd of been signed in minimum originally same as Jennings brother and Davis. Auvau had chance and stepped up. The other 2 id guess are on same as previous year. MIN. Auvau would of had a double your pay.
Perhaps if either of other 2 had chance they would of taken leap. Sames goes for King.

I can't imagine it would make much difference. He was just one of 34 players and it's just one game. Unless he had an exceptional game.
The point is he was part of the top 17 in that Souths side. He made his NRL debut in round six and only missed one game between then and the grand final.

He was obviously not a star - that Souths side looks like it saved a bit of cash in the outside backs - but he was an established first grader when we threw him that lifeline. I'm sure we got him for less than he was worth, but he was worth a lot more than minimum salary.

Yeah that's fair enough. If he was a regular part of the side for the majority of the year then it would up his price.

I agree, pretty sure there was an article last year talking about players in our side on the minimum amount and he was one ( think with smith and king).

Auva'a was low risk though. He only turned 25 last year and was already an established first grader and premiership winner. I get that King and Smith had less than a full NRL season under their belts, plus history of serious injury. Auva'a was just a discipline case, like many of our players.

Remember if they get injured you're stuck with them. But if they f**k up you can sack them and recoup your cap space.
