Again you're agreeing that Kikau wasn't the momentum catalyst but just jumping on the back of our errors, injuries and shit defence having already handed over momentum?
In individual games, a handful of moments may decide result, but across a season your fate is determined by far more

Yes big powerful forward packs win most premierships with great halves. We are lacking at least one but probably two big powerful forwards.

Like I said before, we will probably make the 8, but win it from there, especially this year where almost every team has an improved roster. Highly doubtful.

If he got the chance to run at isolated halfbacks he would've had more impact. Unfortunately that doesn't happen unless the middle defenders stop pushing across in cover like ours did before Kikau came onto the field.

He is still the next Pauli Pauli at this stage. That merkin had a good game once too.

Oh like all those other impact games he has had for us when we are playing well and he rips through the defense like grease through a goose. Oh wait...

As for Kikau...he is already better then Pauli Pauli ever was.

Well actually he does when he plays on the edge, just like Kikau. But Moeroa is valuable as a defender, unlike Kikau, so he spends long minutes in the middle of the field while we use ball players at edge forward. That's how we structure our attack, and that's why we finished top four and were the third best team in the finals last year. How did Kikau go in the finals?

He is a year younger than Pauli and played fewer than a quarter the number of games. Kikau hasn't even played half a season in first grade and the merkin is almost 23. He's done nothing except play a decent 30 minutes in his last start.

FFS I hope we win this week...
Unless there is a huge disparity between the teams, every game is a roughly fifty-fifty contest, especially early in the season. What this means is that most teams are a 1-in-4 chance of losing their first two games (and of winning them). We were 2 from 6 to start 2017 and went on to have our best season in 12 years.

Don't stress over early season results. If we have a strong team (and most of us know we do) then it will be evident after twenty-four games, not two.

I feel like you've missed the spirit of the post tbh

The only reason we got off to a good start in that game was due to the Panthers constant errors and penalties. Once they got it together, we had no answers. Yes we compounded it this the Moses incidents, but the Panthers were always making great ground from the outset bar the errors.

Yeah, so.
The only reason Penrith were able to rack up their score is because of our mistakes.

They played like shit - we capitalised.
We played even more like shit - they capitalsed even more. They scored 8 of their points when we had a man in the bin. Penrith weren't that much better than us. We just made a few more mistakes, that's all.

Agree re early season form Poo however after much discussion re our improved training form and fitness it was disappointing to see the usual fade out after 30 minutes. We seem to be a one speed team. When the opposition lifts we cant go with them. Im concerned it was same old same old and hopefully BA is as well.

Sure he is a decent defender, but I am yet to see the great attack whether in the middle or on the edge. Sure the occasional but good run, but even a slug attacker makes a bust here and there, especially if given a great early ball.

I don't want to keep bagging Moreoa. I think everyone here knows my feelings on him by now. Lets all just agree to disagree. The only reason we predominately use him in the middle is because he was found wanting when we first used him exclusively on the edge. I haven't closed off my feelings on him. There is still time on his side to change my mind. But it ain't looking good for him in attack. If he doesn't pick up his metres to around 130+ a game and some of those being open breaks in the clear, then he will not warrant a hefty renewed contract. I believe he is already on 5-600k. For that sort of coin, I expect the player to be very good, especially in attack and domination of the defense. At the moment he doesn't dominate the defense when carrying the ball.

haha yes as @Bazal said. I was just saying that as I cannot deal with another 6 pages of f**king Kikau or some other plodder being SO MUCH better than our so called bludgers. Stone the crows!
