Even Paul Kent has said he feels sorry for eels supporters. He said Hayne left us in 2014 saying it's not all about money yet doesn't accept our offer when he returned as the Titans offered more.

Firstly who is available?

Secondly like I said weeks ago I wanted him playing at 6. Not fullback because I admire French and his potential. If he insisted on fullback I would have not increased my offer.

So his options would be go to one club where he can play his preferred position and play behind a pack that at least has an understanding that winning the play the ball is important, or take $500k less and play in a position he doesn't want to play behind a pack of forwards at a club that haven't won the play the ball for over a decade.

What would you choose?

How much would you pay Hodkinson?

If we got him for $400k, I would be happy but he probably wants $500k plus ( would consider $500k). But his value has probably dropped due to his poor year.

He would be perfect with Norman, decent kicking (general play / goal) and is pretty good defensively which is pretty important.

Hastings would potentially be my first pick.

I would be loyal to a club that gave me over $400K whilst I was chasing my dream, let me sell my shit in the Leagues Club and waited for 2 years for me to return. That's what I would do.

BA......you bought a donkey like watmough and for 4 years knowing his best years had passed, you sign Foran having much more knowledge than us regarding his issues as they go back several years, you let Peats go for whatever reason, let Gordon go (goal kicker) , semi going off the rails along with Norman and the cherry on top not being overly concerned if we lose Hayne, well we have.....can't wait on ur next move? Before you all jump down my throat I understand he has little assistance and been strong, tho I personally believe his man management skills are somewhat lacking and has a little answe for with above shenanigans, I would not have let Paulo go either, hey we re signed windscreens, and the header Wicks signing imminent does not fill me with a lot of hope, both goers nothing more, give us some good news please.

My thrid train of thought is that it was extremely odd how the press conference went .. he was kinda shattered and more interested in explaining not being at Parra

Which makes me wonder if there is some sly shit going on where the NRL have basically done him (or more likely his manager) a deal to guarantee any past issues will go away if he signed there .... I honestly don't trust that smarmy two faced sack of shit greenburg one bit

My first thought about this was how Hayne has shown when he is not interested he does F all . Hopefully the Tits have bought a dud pea heart for 2 yrs or until the plane leaves to follow a tibetan throat singing career.

So this article says that Hodkinson knocked back 800k a year from the Gold Coast to sign with the Knights. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...6/news-story/9a29d999ba3de3ddaf9580019b935866

You'd have to think he is on close to that at Newcastle

Do you think Newcastle would be interested in paying $300k to $400k for the next two years for him to play somewhere else?

Maybe, do you think Hodinson is currently playing like a player worth $800k. They may think Lamb is ready for a starting spot and they are better off cutting their losses with hodkinson, paying him $300-$400 to play somewhere else but at the same time feeling up $400-500k of their cap to sign someone else that improves their squad.

Anyhow Brown might consider it but as the club is owned by the NRL I reckon their is no f**ken chance they would let us sign him and pay some of his contract.

More than a kernel of truth in that.

Watmough was a good signing at the time, the team needed quality experience and Watmough had that in spades.

you sign Foran having much more knowledge than us regarding his issues as they go back several years
This is a weird one, I don't think anyone could have had the foresight to see that coming.. can't really blame BA for that one, his "issues" had never affected his footy before..

you let Peats go for whatever reason
Are you dense? They let Peats go for two reasons. firstly, to get the team under the cap so we could play for points again and salvage the season. Secondly, there was every chance that BA was letting Peats go at the end of the season anyway, although with his uptick in form, he may have re-signed him, but that point is moot anyway.

let Gordon go (goal kicker)
Roosters outbid us, and wasn't in our plans for 2017 anyway.

semi going off the rails along with Norman
99% of that was media beatup, and the rest was players being stupid, again not some directly under BA's control.

the cherry on top not being overly concerned if we lose Hayne, well we have
Probably because he didn't to have to pay massive overs for him, and why should he? He's not god, you know..

Before you all jump down my throat
Too late for that..

I understand he has little assistance and been strong
You're damn f*cking right he has.

tho I personally believe his man management skills are somewhat lacking and has a little answe for with above shenanigans
bullshit.

I would not have let Paulo go either
Not really his choice that Canberra paid overs for him

hey we re signed windscreens
Kid has massive potential

and the header Wicks signing imminent does not fill me with a lot of hope
It should, he's been a standout forward this year. One of our best.

give us some good news please.
I'm sure it's coming..

I don't think he's the worst option to be honest. I think him and Farah would thrive on one final season together.

He wouldnt be my first option but on the cheap ( around $300k) would be OK. I don't think he is that bad either, gee does anyone look good at the dragons?

And BA has shown he puts game plans in place that suit the players ability / skills, so could get him playing ok,

There's an article on The Telegraph site indicating that Max Donnelly wasn't interested in upping the offer due to 'team culture'.

I can't post it as it won't let me read it.
