The centre Tui Afalou.
How do they manage it under the salary cap, you reckon? And either 1st or 2nd in 4 of last 5 years....
Maybe hes signed elsewhere?Tui Afualo was in our full time squad at the start of the year and now he's not. I trust the coach knows what he wants in a player.
Whats a "Phart"?Is/are Gazzamatta/Glenneel the new Phart?
Being devils advocate here Poo. You reckon theres no chance we have upped an offer for a player we want under the current administration?Twal doesn't have Evans' running game, which is why we signed him. Keppie hasn't even played reserve grade and Manly offered him a top 30 spot? They are desperate to fill their top 30 with cheap players since the cap scandal. We are obviously not.
Stone and Mahoney are better players than Keppie and neither is in the top 30 (or weren't to start the year). We can't help clubs offering our players overs. Matching their offers means we are letting other clubs dictate the value of our players - a poor strategy.
Thanks. All objective responses except one. The usual suspects attitude shits me but nothing new there. Oops sorry I stole that quote.
Gennings gets a run this week which is great and maybe Marata after being player 21 for a season and a half. Yeah I'm embellishing a tad but its a forum with different opinions. Some right some wrong and some are still a W. I. P.
Settle FFS.
Not ignorant at all. Depends how you look at it. I obviously use different criteria but thats cool. I respect your opinion and dont think its ignorant at all.Kep is good, and the club wanted to keep him. He just was offered more money at Manly as well as a top 30 spot. He's stepped up his game this year playing very long minutes and I believe on the weekend he played the full 80 minutes whilst keeping his workrate high. It'll be a shame to lose him but he has a bit to work on before he's going to play first grade, he might play next year but it may be a bit premature. He should be ready for full time first grade in 2020 but by then he'll already be off-contract and could potentially sign elsewhere.
This idea that BA doesn't debut or play younger players is completely ignorant. Since he's been in charge full-time this is a list of players he's played under the age of 25: Corey Norman, Nathan Peats, Will Hopoate, Pauli Pauli, Tepai Moeroa, Bureta Faraimo, John Folau, Daniel Alvaro, Clint Gutherson, Bevan French, Nathan Brown, Kirisome Auva'a, Cameron King, Will Smith, Mitchell Moses, Nathan Davis. 15 players in 4 seasons and 3 games. It would've been hard for any coach to debut young players that we've brought through the system as our 20's the three years before had finished in the bottom 4, our reserve grade team wasn't any better also finishing in the bottom 4 the three years before BA became head coach.
Realistically how many more players should BA have debuted or played that were under the age of 25?
Yeah I got what you said the first time. Theres an echo in here. Second time dosent shit me at all.Lol.
Not objective because it calls you out on a fallacy? Perhaps you need to take your own advice and settle a bit, precious.
Keppie was offered a top 30 spot at Manly, while he's behind other young players here who are objectively better at this stage. It's not simply a matter of "letting players go", if we thought Keppie was worth a spot in our top 30 he'd have one. At this stage he's basically Alex Twal all over again and we already have enough of that type of player. More power to the kid, I hope he kills it, but I don't reckon we should match every deal that comes along in an effort to keep all our juniors...
Yeah I got what you said the first time. Theres an echo in here. Second time dosent shit me at all.
Thought he was Turkish.
Probably cause you dream of being turkish slapped
Yeah it's possible. In that case why keep developing him for some other club? Stick him back in Flegg and save the money and development spot for another player.Maybe hes signed elsewhere?
Only if they were worth it TO US. Not just because they were worth it to some other club.Being devils advocate here Poo. You reckon theres no chance we have upped an offer for a player we want under the current administration?
I wonder if Keppie would have made the development squad if he hadnt signed elsewhere?Yeah it's possible. In that case why keep developing him for some other club? Stick him back in Flegg and save the money and development spot for another player.
Interestingly, Keppie is the same age as Mahoney, and older than Salmon, and they are all in the development squad.
Gee. I gotta think about that Poo. Leave it with me will ya.Only if they were worth it TO US. Not just because they were worth it to some other club.
Tui Afualo was in our full time squad at the start of the year and now he's not. I trust the coach knows what he wants in a player.
Maybe he has, maybe he hasn’t but I reckon and there may be someone who knows more (probably Avenger whom I suspect is BA) but I reckon the club was just playing funny cap buggers with him and he’ll be back in our development squad, if he ever left it, next yearMaybe hes signed elsewhere?
