Rumours and Stuff

I can name three or four of them, actually.

They're still better than Ram who just hates melanin and wants nothing but Aryan players.

Not true. Aboriginals, generally in the backs due to size, are awesome players and can play with real steel, tenacity and brilliance. Islanders and Maori's are also great, brilliant and powerful players. My only issue though is when there are to many in the one team that they have that bro culture that is way to chilled for a long term successful team to triumph.

Obviously there are exceptions. But a coach is taking a huge gamble that the chilled attitude won't creep in if the team has a lopsided balance of those players. All you need to do is add a negative influence like Corey Norman into the mix and there goes the attitude totally.

We still don't have any real leaders in our squad that can change the negative behaviour and attitude that some players may bring into our system.

The second half worked because our game plan became give it to Trex up against Brooks and Naiqama. And let’s hope he can get an offload away...
Who would’ve thought having a big body on the edge would work....

Also there was no penalties to help the tigers out of their own end.

I think he needs to be there, basically with him and t-Rex we have that added size we may be missing. Obviously his form hasn't been the best but he hasn't been terrible either.

While Peni (most likely to be replaced) was good on Monday, he really only offers what we already have in Mannah/Alvaro/Brown while Evan offers something different, size/attacking ability with an offload.

Is Scott offering enough from the bench as a middle forward? Maybe Evans could offer more.

Or is T-Rex as the edge player on the bench a better option then Edwards? Or even Manu? Thus Creating a spot for Evans.

I'd have Evans over Scott. I'd like a bench of Evans, Moeroa, Terepo, Williams

Evans needs to be in the team.
We bought him for a reason, and the things he brings we still desperately need.
A few poor games in which he's had little to do but defend are not enough to make a decision on him yet at all.

If anyone is to lose their spot, I would probably choose Scott. I think his play has been on the wane. Defence doesn't seem to be as good anymore, and his attack is non-existent. Terepo offers more than him I think, minus the leadership qualities. I'm all for having someone in the team for leadership, but there has to be a point where they need to offer more than that.

Who would have thought it, no penalties when you are the dominate team and not taking risks in off side and play the ball. Dominance is key to so many ills of our team.

You only get that when you work hard and have a powerful forward rotation. The simplest way to have a powerful forward rotation is to have BIG FREAKIN FORWARDS that can play the game of rugby league well.

Size is only part of the equation. Ability is the other.

I never implied anything, I asked you a simple question

do you think Fui was big enough ?

There are different types of big and powerful. Fui was of the wide stockier type. But what made him the awesome destructive force that he was, was his full on speed and momentum when carrying the ball. Speed as they say is also power. Who in our team comes even close to running like that on EVERY hit up?

I can't remember exactly what it was, but when they measured Fui's velocity on impact, it was like being hit by a numerous amount of refrigerators.

Has anyone ever been hit by a refrigerator? I wonder how they measured it?

What I can't work out is why the whole team is gassed after about 10 mins play. Look at them, hands on hips, head down, distressed and breathing hard yet the other team look calm and refreshed. What is going on? According to TCT the training this year was harder than ever but they look totally off the pace and this is contributing to their losses.

But are other forces at play here? Is there disharmony in the team because something is obviously wrong. You don't go from a top 8 team to wooden spoon candidate in 5 months without something happening that we don't know about.
Or that some of us maybe knowing about.

If we had 50% possession this season and didn't give away so many penalties, we would be 3 and 1 without a doubt in the world.

What do you guys reckon re bringing Evans back in? To be honest I am in no rush to push him back in but interest to hear your opinions.

He brings a lot more go-forward than any other forward we have.

He's had the misfortune of coming off the bench for us when we are defending, so he hasn't shown his true value - but he's a much better attacking runner than anyone else in our side.

Yes and if we had some big palookas that can play that would of happened and we might have even been 4 and 0...without a doubt.
