Well what else can i base it on??? 0 and 4 and a -84 F/A doesn't scream comp winner does it???
My point is you’re arguing that previous results don’t matter as long as you win the comp. So why give a shit if we’ve lost 4 games, as long as we win the comp in the future then they mean nothing

Isn't what happens in the future more important than what happened in the past? It's round 5 FFS. What happened last week or last year is irrelevant.
The ladder would suggest the past is important. The past is also a certainty whereas future success is uncertain.

If we had of won the comp last year I would care far less that we a playing like busted arses this year.

Parramatta star Mitchell Moses won’t give up the passion after his rude outburst was recorded

Matt Logue, The Daily Telegraph
April 5, 2018 6:11pm

UNDER-siege Parramatta playmaker Mitch Moses says he won’t be stopping his frustrated outbursts at teammates: declaring: “I’m just being passionate”.

Tempers reached boiling point midway through Monday’s 30-20 loss to the Tigers when Moses blasted forward Kenny Edwards for being slow to his feet after a tackle.

Fox Sport’s broadcast microphone picked up the five-eighth screaming: “Get up! **** me, ****!”.

Asked about the incident, Moses said he was demanding precision following Parramatta’s substandard start to 2018.

After finishing the 2017 season so promisingly, the Eels have now lost their first four games, the first time it’s happened under coach Brad Arthur.

“It’s not a personal thing or anything like that, the boys know that,” Moses said.

“I’m not going at a person because I don’t like the person. “We’re a tight knit group here and we all love each other.

“But I’m just passionate, it’s getting to that stage where we’re 0-4 and I’m really passionate about my team and I really want to win. That’s all it is.

“They don’t take it personally at all. It’s my job to get up some of the boys. If it’s deserved that’s my job, I’m a halfback, I’ve got to do that.

“It’s more just the passion side of thing. I demand perfection I guess, it’s nothing personal.

“I get sprayed myself if I’m not doing my job. That’s footy, you’ve got to be able to cop it.”

When it comes to accountability, Moses is more than happy to take aim at his own game.

The ex-Tiger has struggled to produce his best form, especially behind a badly beaten forward pack. Moses, though, is determined to rediscover his spark against Penrith on Sunday.

“Personally I haven’t been up to scratch,” he said.

“I think I’ve just got to focus on my own game. I think I’m worried about too many others instead of my own game. I think if I narrow it down and do what I do best it’ll be better for the team.

There’s no excuse I need to pick up my game.

I think we need to get that first win out of the way and then I think it’ll kick start our season. We’ll focus on fixing up a few things this week as a team for the Penrith game.”

For a side hailed premiership favourites in the pre-season, Parramatta are starring down the barrel of five straight defeats for the first time since 1991.

It’s an unwanted statistic Moses says the Eels are determined to avoid.

“We’re desperate, we need to win,” he said. “I’d be lying if I didn’t say that, at times it does get frustrating with the amount of ball that we haven’t had.

“Discipline’s the big thing. If we can fix that up and defend our errors, we’ll be all right.”

Meanwhile, veteran Eels forward Beau Scott says he wants to play beyond 2018.

“I’d like to think I’ve got a bit left in me,” Scott said. “But at the moment that isn’t my focus — it’s all about helping Parramatta win.”

If we had won the comp last year I'd probably still be drunk now.... And yeah, wouldn't give a shit how we were travelling right now....
