What role?

The role of a bench player is to replace a starter. If that starter is an injured back and the bench player is remotely capable of playing centre, that means playing centre....ffs

Me too. I thought he would have been bought as a middle forward as that is the area we lacked (a big body in the middle). Our edges were already ok. Now our go forward through the middle is still poor.

Wouldn't mind manu getting some time in the middle think he would go ok and leave moeroa on the edge longer, think he is a better edge attacking player then manu if given decent ball. Manu style now is probably suited to the middle. For next year:

11. TBC - Maybe time for a new addition.
12. Moeroa
13. Brown

14. Manu or Edwards (playing in the middle)

I think Manu could play a similar role to Scott.

But I think his footwork would be wasted in the middle.

Not really wasted, he would be more of "lock" role.

He wouldn't be expected (but I am sure he would) to take the first 2 hit ups, he would get it on the 3rd / 4th when the defensive line is not as tight, this is where his foot work could be used (like brown does). Yeah it wouldn't be as useful as on the edge but gives us a bit extra attack in the middle which we probably lack. His leg speed / offloading ability would also benefit our side in the middle.

Well we do love to go forward through our edge back rowers. It's been a feature of our team since Arthur's took over.

Understand what your saying but he cant run a line at all. He requires early ball & can create 2nd phase play but for mine cant run a line & struggles a little laterally defending on an edge. Has the attitude & aggression to make an ok middle, but i think his time is nearing an end

No. Never best.Very good at one stage.
Always better guys. Never had the level Papali or Cordner or Frizell reached. Never powerfull enough to bust the line like those guys. His best was almost breaking the line. A few good offloads etc.....
Id say now Manu is middle of pack 2nd rower. He may come good again as not that old but 2017 was average and this year declined more.

Not sure we need him, unless he's happy to play second string

That's our problem, Who from Nsw cup can play in the halves in Nrl.? No one at all.
No competition for spots.
Roberts would be cheap.He is also very creative.
Would put pressure on Norman/Mosses to perform.

As for your comment regarding a hooker. I totally agree but who do you suggest. There isnt many out there.
Would Farrah fill avoid for a year or so.? maybe Danny Levi from Knights now Slade Griffen is the starting 9.
Also we need more than just a hooker.
We require 2 big explosive middels
We require 1 back rower
We require 1 centre
We require Semi back

He's probably better than both our hookers and very versatile.
