Spot on. Our win ratio (whilst not conclusive due to various factors) is certainly an indicator of what is best for the team, and Gutho’s winning ratio at fullback is better than French’s.

it's all an act though in the kokoda special both he and fletch take it seriously (as they bloody well should!) and the show is ten times better for it

French on the wing reminds me of Burt, when the team is going well he’s great to have. Speed to burn and can sniff out a try from anywhere, but with our present side and lack of go forward he is more a liability than a positive. And if we are paying 250-300k for a project player who one day just may be a great fullback(Gutho is almost that now) we are never going to have the ability to have that pack with the go forward to carry a bloke like him on the wing anyway.

All true. But if the forwards are giving the backs room, like on Sunday, French will be lethal (as he was last year).... dont point the finger at wingers whilst the forwards have been gash. The speed of our ruck last week was fantastic and the forwards looked like last year... and guess what the backs fired. Yup, french won't ruck it out like a 110kg winger... but, with room, he'll score plenty more tries than that 110kg bloke too. As for the fullback argument, we are in an embarrassment of riches situation. Who ever gets it still, needs the pigs on equal footing with the opposition.
