No, he wasn't floundering. He just wasn't given the opportunity over others in his respective clubs. But Barrett knowing what he was capable of in the lower grades at Penrith, made sure that he followed him over to the Eagles as a priority. How often do we see that in our game. A player who can't seem to ice a permanent gig in the top grade and then a coach that sees him as a star and then makes it happen?

Remember Mahoney as a flock of hair on his head which stands an inch high. Maybe making him look taller than he really is.

Anyways Mahoney is a talented footy player with good service, Kicking game and his strength is his running game.
But as someone mentioned previously his main obstacle will be his size.

Looking at photos I agree with you. Looks short but at 19 he could grow a few more inches. Didnt the dogs chop him cause said to small? Same goes for tigers and Stone who has struggled in NSW cup.
