I'd actually go into work and do a really, really half-assed job (well moreso than I already do), then when I got called in to be fired I'd have the cash I'd earned in that time and say " you can't fire me, I quit and you can keep your damn money" and throw the wads of money in his face. What makes you think he loves the club more than himself. I haven't seen any evidence to suggest that he is selfless when it comes to Parramatta.

If it was that easy and we could get him at a reasonable price then of course. However, some of us are just being a little more realistic about how it would likely play out.

Because you would have to move a dozen first graders and replace them with blokes on minimum salary to fit Hayne under your cap. If you want Hayne you really need to get rid of at least half a dozen blokes on $300k and replace them with plodders on $100k-$150k.

Obviously the Hayne fan club would prefer to ditch Foran for Hayne, thinking it would be a straight swap, but this ignores two important points - Hayne is far better suited to fullback than to the halves, and we already have fullback options in the squad. The second point is that Arthur chose Foran to be our marquee, and what he has provided is far harder to replace. The injury and temporary mental illness were just bad luck.
