Leuluai if off to Wigan and they have offered him a sweet position there for after he retires so you'd be hard pressed to convince him to come to Parra.

Lolohea is a great player but I don't know if he'd complement Norman in the halves the way a Hastings or Reynolds would... But I wouldn't mind taking a chance on that scenario to see how it plays out! Reynolds issues are his seemingly regular injury problems... Never thought I'd say it but Mitchell Pearce would actually be a good fit for us with Norman in the halves. Can't see it happening though....

I don't rate Morgan. Shitty kicking game and only average as a playmaker. He is quick and strong though, and looks good in a quality team. Plus he has some utility value. He's a good player, but I wouldn't want him as our primary half.

Well you did say plenty of Merkins don't rate the secondary half. I guess if the shoe fits.

Personally, I'd take a Norman/Morgan combo in a heart beat. Don't forget he also plays on the right. Unfortunately it will never happen.

Yes, but what we do need in that case is several "premium" stars that are not money hungry grubs and are willing to to be paid modestly. The Eels won't get that at the moment. The myth of the balanced team is that you can have a team of nuffs and win a premiership... every other team gets third parties out of their asses to be solid around the park and spectacular in key positions.

If you can't afford a premiership team then you can't afford it. At least when your team is balanced you're able to be competitive most weeks with a chance of making the finals. Carrying a superstar when you can't afford to be solid across the park means you win the spoon as soon as he misses a few games injured.

I was hoping we would offer cronk $800k-$900k plus TPA's and get him to sydney to be with his partner but either we didn't or he was already signed to the storm and only announced yesterday. But then again if he REALLY wants to move to sydney and wasn't just bumping up his asking price then we could still make that offer now and he could ask for a release on compassionate grounds. (I think Cronk is a man of his word and honor and wouldn't do that.)
I can't see Reynolds getting a release after they let Keary go, who else is there?

None of this is Hayne's fault. We were just unlucky with Foran. You could not a scripted what happened to Foran this year, the black must have broke a mirror and run over a black cat on friday the 13th at the same time.
I love the posititivity of BA but being positive doesn't make a specialist half suddenly appear.
And he said "specialst half" not "class half".
This year looks to have set us back another 3.

We already have a high quality half in Norman (if he's re-signed). We just need to partner him with a first grader. That might mean Benji Marshall for a season.

I also think Hayne's manager may have steered him away from us do the off field and board crap, who's to say other players managers aren't going to start doing the same.
I don't want to go back to days of paying way overs just to get someone to sign with us.

We never left those days, we just started trying to hide part of those overs as TPAs.
